I walked swiftly to class from my locker. I honestly was still tired from the other night when me and a few of the girls went to the beach. I honestly never go out but I was practically forced out my door.

I walked into my language arts class and saw someone I didn't know, but looked way too familiar..

Knowing my teacher way too well, I darted my eyes to the front of the class as soon as the bell rang.

"Okay man, this is how it's gonna go. This is the new student, he's gonna be awkward and introduce himself, and then we're gonna stare at him the whole period without his permission. We've had plenty of new students this year, do we really need to do this again?"
The whole class nodded their heads like we were in some cliché popular movie.
"Uhhhg. Okayyyy. Uhm this is Daniel Larusso, and he's new to our class. Yay." The new kid, or Daniel, kinda shifted in his seat with his hands in his pockets and his back slid down in his chair.

I ripped a piece of paper out of my notebook and wrote a quick and non-personal note, because if it's passed people are gonna open it and read it. I didn't realize he was right next to me..

The note read 'I was the same way when I first came here, and for some reason you look familiar..?'

I slid the note on his desk and he kinda smirked as he read it.

He scribbled a reply and slid it back to me.
'I met you at the beach the other night, remember?'
I nodded at him and stuck the note in my backpack.
I didn't really wait up for the ne- Daniel, after class because I didn't want to make it seem like I thought we were friends after one conversation. If you could even call it that.

"Hey, what class do you have next?" I felt Daniel tap on my shoulder.
"Uhm, I have gym next. What about you?"
"Uhh," he pulled out his schedule and took a look "ugh, I have Math."
I grabbed his schedule
"Your teacher is on the other side of the school, why are you walking this way?" I giggled, handing him back his schedule.
He scratched the nape of his neck.
"Ahh, really?" He turned around and then turned his head towards me
"I guess I'll see you later..?"
"Y/n. And yes I will definitely see you later."
Oh. God I just sounded weird.

After school I went home on the bus because I'm grounded from using my car.
After I finished my homework I decided to take a walk on the beach since I lived so close.

I found a nice spot in the sand and plopped down.

"Heyyy, fancy seeing you here." I heard a voice say. I snapped out of my thoughts and realized Daniel was standing in front of me.

"Oh, hey."
"You mind if I sit here?"
"Nah, you can sit there"
He plopped down and started playing with a shell he found.
"So, uhh, you from here?" He was adorable when he tried to make small talk. Note to self: stop thinking these things because you might a) say it out loud or b) fall in love with him.
"Uh, no, not this specific place. Where are you from?"
"Newark."
"Isn't that in New Jersey?"
"Yeah"
We sat in silence for a few minutes.
It was getting dark so I started to stand up.
"Hey, uh, listen, I don't really say anything when I think someone's pretty, because I don't really like getting rejected. Would you go out with me?" I looked at him. Not at him, I looked him in the eye for the first time tonight.
"Yes, Daniel, I will absolutely go out with you"
Our night at the beach ended extremely cliché with a sunset kiss and he walked me home
