Chapter one: telling Jace

Clary's pov

"Jace!" I yelled as I looked at the little plastic stick in my hand. It had two lines. Oh my gosh. I couldn't believe it.

Jace came running up the stairs and into the room. "Clary? Where are you?" He yelled. He sounded worried.

" In here," I called to him. He came in the room and a look of relief washed over his face as he saw that I was okay.

"Oh god. I was so worried about you. I thought that Jonathan was back from the dead and was here or something." He told me. I began to chuckle. "What?" He whined like a little kid. It made me laugh even harder. "Seriously what is so funny?" He asked me. I stood up and walked over to him.

"Aw was my big bad shadow hunter scared?" I teased him like I did my best friend Simon. He sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Alright clary,that's it. What is wrong?" He asked firmly,locking his golden eyes on my green ones. It made me melt right then and there.

"Jace do you want kids?" I asked hesitantly. He looked into my eyes again and the edges of his lips curled up into that dazzling smile that made my heart jump for joy.

"Yes. Why?" He asked in his mysterious voice impression that I loved so much.

"Because I-I-" I begin to say, but I get scared and stop. I break out of his grasp,causing me to get a look of confusion from him,because I never do that. I walked over to the sink and picked up the test,taking a deep breath and calming down my nerves. I turned and walked back over,and showed it to him. "Because I'm pregnant Jace." I managed to get out.

He stared at in in shock,and then his grin got even bigger,if that was even possible. I didn't think so , but apparently I was wrong. He picked me up and spun me saying "oh Clary! This is great! I'm gonna be a dad! We need to go shopping ,decorate the room, tell everyone else.oh my god I sound like a girl."

I laughed so hard at that. "Yes. Yes you do.Now let's go. I need to go tell my mom. Imma go grab the gun,just in case." I earned a chuckle from him on that one. "No I'm serious. Imma bring a gun with me just in case she tries to kill you or someone breaks in. It's not uncommon."

"Oh. Okay then" he said. I went upstairs and got the gun. When I walked back down while loading it, Jace was already ready to go. "Ready?" He asked me.

"As ready as I'll ever be," I responded and he laughed and hugged me.

"That's my girl," he said.then we walked out of the house ready to face what my mother will say. "Oh dear lord. Please let this go right" I thought.
