Chapter 7

Date: August 30, 1993

Shayne's POV

Today, Michael has a show in Singapore and I honestly don't know what to expect The press has been hounding him like crazy and its been getting worse as the days go past

I also think something is seriously wrong with him He always seems...... sedated Its like he took something I guess I wasn't the only one who noticed because Elizabeth pulled me to the side

Elizabeth: Have you noticed that Michael seems a bit..... out of it.?

Shayne:(Nods) Yeah I was going to ask you about it later What do you think it is.?

Elizabeth: Well,.... I'm not sure but......I think he's popping pills

(My mouth dropped open.)

Shayne: No.! Michael would never do something as dangerous as that.!

Elizabeth: Shayne, I used to pop pills (My eyes widened.) Hard to believe, I know but I know the signs...... and as much as I hate to say it, Michael has all the signs

Shayne: OK well, what do we do.?

Elizabeth: First, we need to confirm that he's taking the pills

Shayne: And how do we do that.?

Elizabeth: We have to search his things

(I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest)

Shayne: I don't know about that, Liz

Elizabeth: We're doing it for his benefit

Shayne: Alright

(We walked back towards his dressing room. One of the security guards, Tony, was standing in front of the door and we walked up to him)

Tony: Hi Shayne, Ms. Elizabeth

Shayne: Hi Tony Is Michael in there.?

Tony: Nope He went to talk to Greg about the set list

(Me and Elizabeth smiled at each other. Michael and Greg always argued about the show so that bought us at least 20 minutes.)

Elizabeth: Well, we're gonna go inside and set up a special surprise for Michael and we need you to make sure that he and no one else comes in, OK.?

Tony:(Nods) Yes ma'am

Elizabeth: Thanks sweetheart

Shayne: Thanks Tony

Tony: No problem

(He opened the door and stepped aside. We walked in and he closed the door behind us.)

Shayne: So, what's the game plan.?

Elizabeth: Look through everything Pills can go in almost anything so be through

(I nodded and we set to work. After 15 minutes, neither of us had found anything. We sat on the floor, with his suitcases in front of us.)

Shayne: Maybe he isn't taking pills.... (Shrugs) Maybe it's something else

Elizabeth: No,.... I'm almost positive that he is If he isn't,..... then it's something way worse and I know he wouldn't do that

(She threw his shoe down and we heard a rattle. I picked the shoe up and emptied it. Nothing.)

Shayne: Where did the shoe fall.?

Elizabeth: In the suitcase, on the hats

(She pulled out a hat and there in the suitcase,.... was a pill bottle. She picked it up and looked at it closely.)
