It is very confusing truly. While, Amelia was talking to Nate she had momentarily forgotten about Caden. She knew nobody noticed but she had. The way he moved with her for protecting her or the Alpha was a question. Then, he moved away but why? Cause he saw no threat in her or that she was not at risk. These thoughts were plaguing her. She couldn’t understand. She also knew he was standing right behind her in the shadows when she was playing with Nate. She started pacing the room.
She paused. The real question here was why was she so bothered by him? Why was the answer to these questions so important to her? Why do the thought of him looking at her as a threat sicken her? Oh! Why? The answers are not going to appear in thin air.
‘Ok! Amy it is not a big deal. He did not speak to you the whole evening and here you cannot get him out of your head. What the heck are you doing? You are here to study and you cannot let anybody distract you.’ She chided to herself.
Her phone pinged. It was Axel, her best friend. She couldn’t wait for Merry to meet him. She sighed remembering Bria. She was wondering when that blonde beauty was going to talk to her. She had wanted to talk to her the moment she recognized her as Axel’s sister, but she knew that wouldn’t have been wise. She had gone through so much that she would have been wary of her. Though she was certainly glad she found her mate. It has been six months since she last visited them and Axel did not like to talk about her on phone. She chatted with Axel to catch up for a while before going back to her studies to finish her homework. He was still angry at her for not telling him about her decision of moving here in Star Pack.
Caden was frustrated as he couldn’t get Amelia out of his head. She had looked absolutely stunning in that black dress. Though he was still trying to figure out how their Luna knew her. They appeared quiet close. And they both together fought or rather punctured the guards unconscious. Nate had so easily become familiar to her. He sighed. He had responsibilities to fulfil he couldn’t just sit here thinking about these things.
But, he was very curious. His curiosity led him to Merida to find answers. Merida was easy going and very approachable. He was family after all so she did not hesitate to answer when he spoke his mind. She smiled, “We were together in the wild for a year. She was five and I was seven year old. As you might know my parents had abandoned me and around that time I found her, Amy. She was the sole reason I did not go crazy or lost in the insanity of the world. She did not know what happened to her parents. I had assumed them to be dead being the mature one and such. You see I considered myself as the elder, more intelligent one. Then we had found a Mr. Potter after wondering in the forest for two days surviving on merely instincts. He took us under his protection on a few conditions….” She had a dark look on her face as she trailed off, probably reliving the past memories. Caden cleard his throat. She snapped out of it and smiled at him. She continued, “That is not important. As children we did not have any other choice but today we are thankful for that as we learnt not only to survive but to fight and live on our own conditions. You remember those guards were out in just fifteen seconds. We learnt how to fight from him. After that I was adopted here and found that I was Nathaniel’s mate. While, Amy was with him for four more months before she was adopted and we completely lost contact. She did not remember where I was adopted and could not reach me. I never saw Mr. Potter again after he gave me for adoption. Even Amy never saw him again.”
Caden was deep in thought as he gained information on Amelia. But, he still had questions. Merida was surprised to see him so interested in Amy. She brushed it off. “Why only you and well, now Nate are allowed to call her Amy?”, Caden blurted out without thinking. Merida smirked but calmly smothered her smirk into a smile and answered, “Amy did not pronounce my name properly back then. I used to tease her. It used to irritate her. When we noticed that it irritated Mr. Potter and even more when she responded to me. It became a permanent name for her. She called me Merry. That was our little rebel against him. Though later he become used to it and so did we. He called us by our full name though. And we never knew his full name.”
Caden was happy to gain some extra information but still had questions and he somehow knew he won’t get any more answers. And also it would give him away. He was already given away. Merida saw the rapt attention he gave to her words, committing them to his memory. She was not 100% percent sure but positive. She grinned evilly inside her head. It was going to be fun.
