CHAPTER 2

That group consisted of the current Beta repeating school for his mate, Bria Waters. He was only two years older to them. His name was Zach Waters. Bria was the daughter of the Alpha of the neighboring pack, the Diligent pack. The other two were twins, the third-in-commands of the star pack, Austin and Justin.

All this was what Violet had told her. After the scene in the morning, Amelia had made her way to the office to take her schedule and fix her locker for the year. Other than the last group sitting near the office, the ‘powerful’ nobody paid her much attention. She was thankful for that. The receptionist had requested Violet to show her around. She was very talkative and was waiting for her near the office. She gave all the information to Amelia about everyone they came across which was lost to her except for them. Violet had the first two classes with her. Amelia was secretly thankful for her even though she was getting on her nerves.

Before Amelia knew it, it was lunch time. Violet had offered her to sit with them, but she declined it politely saying she needed to check out the library. It was true and also she did not want to stay in the cafeteria to gain attention. She quickly took her lunch and sat outside in the garden.

They weren’t many people outside. She saw Zach talking to a guy with glasses. Now, that caught her attention. Werewolves don’t need glasses unless they are very old or met with an accident which affected their eyes or long exposure to harmful chemicals. There weren’t many who were born with a disability. She had seen just the side of his face before they walked away. Having finished her food, she made her way to the library.

Mentally cursing herself, Amelia tried to think where she had taken the wrong turn. She sighed and looked around her to ask someone the way. Just then she saw the guy with the glasses taking the right corridor. She speed walked to him.

She was surprised to see him. He was well built. She could bet on anything that those were packs underneath that loose fitted shirt. But that did not hide those muscles and biceps. He was easily six feet three inches. He towered over her considering she was tall for a girl at five feet nine inches. He had the brightest blue eyes which were slightly dulled due to his glasses.

“Hey.” She broke the silence with a small smile.

“Uh.. Hi!”, he answered confused. He was wondering why she was talking to him even. She was beautiful. Usually, girls did not like to talk to him. He was awkward to talk to.

“I am Amelia.” She stuck out her hand.

He hesitated but shook her hand firmly. Still confused. “Caden”

“Can you show me the way to the library?” she asked politely. The smile still intact on her face as he did not let her hand go.

“Yeah sure.” He smiled. She literally swooned on that. Now she had full blown smile on her face.

She looked at him expectantly. He blinked. “This way.”

They walked in silence towards the end of the corridor he had turned to. As they were entering she thanked him. He gave her a small smile and walked away. She furrowed her eyebrows at the absurdity of his departure.

She wondered through the rows of books not really paying attention to them. Her mind was stuck on him. She had sensed power on him. But it felt concealed. He had very good looks. He was awkward around her or maybe around everyone. He was talking to the Beta, Zach. His handshake was firm though. He wore glasses. Things weren’t adding up. He had a mysterious aura around him.

This was absurd. Why was she thinking about him? Did she have a crush on him? No, that can’t be. She was searching for her mate. She needed to make her own identity. She couldn’t waste time thinking about a guy she just met. The bell rang breaking her scolding session on herself.

The rest of the day flew by. Amelia did not see him again. Unconsciously she had been looking for him. She did not know anything about him other than his name. This was a very big school. He may be studying something different. This school provided all the courses known to the world. There weren’t many chances they could meet.

Till the end of the day Amelia couldn’t get him out of her head as she came home caught upon her homework and exercised as she woke up late today. She had a light supper. Completed setting up her study table. Arranging the house. This should not carry on like this. She was debating whether or not to ask Violet about him. Right now she should sleep. Yes, that was the thing to do. Maybe something would come up tomorrow and she would forget about this. She was lying to herself. It was worth the thought though. Let’ leave it to tomorrow to happen. She forgot to call home due to Caden. Cursing him, she dialed home. After a half an hour long call of assurance to her parents she went to bed. Sleep sweet sleep.
