Upon arriving to their destination, all of them were awestruck by the sheer grandeur of the place. All the other thoughts were out of the window. Huge was a very peculiar adjective to be used to describe the house. Prodigious, that was more enhancing. It was beautifully structured. The house was in the middle of the forest and the garden that surrounded it on all sides. There was a track running around the house for walks, runs and cycling. There was a two story garage which could hold approximately fifty cars though did not need that many as they mostly preferred walking. The house was built around a hundred and half years ago. For a fact, the house is the most strongest ever built. It has been renovated many a times along the years to keep it in par with the latest technologies. It wasn’t very tall, it had only four floors. A living room big enough to comfortably hold all the residents of the house, a restaurant type kitchen and pantry with specially made two triple size refrigerators, two dining halls- one enormous to accommodate everyone and a smaller one for special occasions to hold small gatherings, and sixteen medium sized rooms accommodated by the chefs, bodyguards and domesticate help on the first floor. The second floor had the teens accommodating twenty five rooms, a fairly big library having all the books that may be required by the house’s residents, a living room which was a quarter size of the main living room, called teen den and a computer-television room for easy access to everyone. The third floor had six flats with three bedrooms, one kitchen, a living room, a dining room each, the largest ones occupied by the third-in-commands. Other four by the families of the higher ranking wolfs who did not move out. The fourth floor had the Alpha and Beta having pent houses well furnished. They even had a roof garden with a swing at a corner for peaceful alone time with oneself. The rest was used to host rooftop parties with an amazing view. The backyard had an Olympic size swimming pool and a small shallower one for kids at one side and the other side had a small park with swings made for kids near to the house. The middle area was a large playground. The basement was sound proof which had a small theatre, a gym and all the indoor games.
The trio were shown around the first floor and the backyard. They were awestruck. It was beautiful in and out. Mara couldn’t stop gushing about it. Jazz was amazed and politely every now and then. Amelia was stunned as she struggled to find words. Their procession was moving on a snail’s pace. Their guide was Casper the third-in-command and the outgoing one of the twins. He was enthusiastic to show them around. He was amused by the girls’ reactions. Nonetheless he wanted to shut Mara up really bad. Jazz well she was something else. He felt that she was trying to impress or something like that. Amelia? She did not utter a word but her expressions spoke volumes. He was curious about her. In fact almost everyone that met or heard of her were curious especially their Luna Merida.
Finally, he led them back to the living room. The girls were still trying to acquaint themselves to the sheer grandeur of the place. It was simple and elegant. Most importantly was the homey feeling it gave. Amelia had thought it would have been kind of intimating for it was situated mysteriously surrounded by forest and the size described to them at home gave them goose bumps. One would think they would be lost but that wasn’t the case. It was a happy cheerful pack house.
The Alpha Nathaniel Darnell, Beta Zach Waters, his mate Bria Waters, third-in-command Jasper along with three others were seated on the sofa in the right corner of the room. As they were entering, they heard Alpha Nathaniel say, “Pardon me. Merida will be joining us in a while. Nate wouldn’t leave her.”
Before anyone could reply, they had reached them. Everyone rose from their seats. Casper introduced them to the gathering. Then he introduced them to the others. Amelia found out that the other three people she did not recognize where the Alpha Leo, Luna Margo and Beta William of the Yellow pack. The name of the pack was due to the fact that the pack was situated near the south where the weather was always sunny. One could tell just by looking at them that they came from the south because of the dark complexion of their skin.
After exchanging pleasantries, they all settled down again with ladies moving aside. Mara was in her own world eyeing Leo and Nathaniel. Jazz had her gaze fixed at Jasper, who did not spare her a glance. Anyone could make out that gloomy expression on her face. Amelia and Casper seemed to notice. They stared at Jasper for a while but nothing. They made eye contact and an understanding passed between them. With a slight nod, Amelia turned to Margo.
They made small talk. Amelia found out that Margo belonged to the star pack. She had been in the Yellow pack for nine months. After officially becoming the Luna, she had wanted to share her joy with her family. They were visiting and were invited to the dinner since, both the packs were friendly before now it strengthened their bonds.
During her conversation, Amelia did not notice Caden along with a few others joining them. Two girls made their way towards them. Caden had to gather himself before entering the room. He was dumbfounded when he saw Amelia looking outrageously gorgeous. All doubts flew out of his mind. He had to fight with himself to keep his expression impassive before anyone would notice. He found it hard to keep his eyes of her.
Feeling someone staring at her Amelia was about to look around when the girls joined them. Before she could pursue her search she was interrupted. A voice greeted them pleasantly from the entrance of the living room. All heads turned to the speaker. “Good Evening! I, apologize to keep you all waiting th…….”
The person made eye contact with Amelia and stopped abruptly. Amelia leapt to her feet in horror. She felt the oxygen in her lungs knocked out as she stood there frozen unable to move even her eyelids.
But, when she unfroze and moved, all hell broke loose.
