Kaneki POV

I wake up in hide's arms for the first time in a while. He's been gone for so long that I almost forgot what it felt like. To not feel cold and alone, but warm and needed. It felt so good. "Hey baby, you awake yet?"

"No. " I groan.

"You sure? It's already past noon. " He laughs, holding me tighter. We just sit like that for what feels like forever. I'm about to fall back asleep when he says," Are you feeling any better? You looked terrible yesterday."

"Yeah. I'm fine. Just sleepy." I reply in a raspy voice.

"Okay. You go back to sleep; I'll  go make you some lunch." I only groan in reply. I fall asleep yet again with the feeling of lips on my forehead.

I'm shaken awake oh so rudely from my nice nap. "Come on. Wake up, Kaneki."

"Ugh. I'm awake, just stop shaking me, I feel sick." I open my eyes to see hide's worried face. "What's wrong? Did something happen?"

"Yes. I'm taking you to the hospital. You started coughing blood in your sleep and you wouldn't wake up." Hide explains putting clothes on my limp body. I'm so out of it I don't even feel him picking me up and setting me in his car. "Come on baby. Don't fall asleep on me. It's going to be okay." He keeps telling me it's going to be okay over and over. Why is he doing that? There's nothing wrong with me. I'm perfectly fine. Before I know it Hide's picking my up again and bringing me into the cold air. What feels like second later I can feel Hide yelling but I black out before I feel anything else.
