Kaneki's POV
I wake up to the peaceful sound of Hide humming quietly while he works his fingers through my hair. I feel a deep ache in my muscles. My eyes feel like bricks, hardly able to stay open. Hide seems to notice my waking as he wrapped his warm hand around to my neck, craning it up so he could kiss my lips. It wasn't deep, but I could feel the uncontrollable love pouring though him. When he pulls back we just stare into each other's eyes.
"I love you so much Kaneki. You mean the whole world to me."
When he says that I feel the blood rush to my face when he said that.
"I love you, too. So much. I don't think I would be able get through this with anyone else."
We end up spending the rest of day in each others arms, Hide's humming constantly luring me in and out of sleep while his hand rubs all my worries away. This is the happiest I've ever been in my whole life. I've found someone who truly loves me, that's evident from the fact that he's been by my side through this all.
At least I know I'll die happy.
