Hey everyone! I'm sooo sorry for the delay with this chapter, my computer died and everything that I worked on was deleted. So I had to do the entire chapter over, and I just didn't like this chapter as much as I liked the one I originally wrote. But I hope you guys enjoy it! And thanks for sticking with me!

"Are you ready to be a mother?"
The question takes Jade off guard.
For a moment she doesn't know why it takes her off guard, but then she does; because while she's asked herself that exact same question, no one else has asked her whether she was sure she wanted to be a mother.
And was she?
She loves her daughter, she truly does, can feel her heart swell whenever she thinks about the infant growing in her womb. Loves the baby growing inside her more than she has ever loved anything or anyone in this entire world. And she wants nothing more than to give her daughter the best, for her daughter to have the best life she could possibly have.
But what if it wasn't with her?
It scares her, the idea that her daughter might find better somewhere else, somewhere that wasn't with her and Beck. But as real life sneaked up on them, she found herself thinking about the possibility of what if?
What if she....what if she gave her daughter up?
Jade has read up on the foster care/adoption system. She knows that it has its faults, that there's a chance that her daughter wouldn't find the best home, or that she would never find a home, and that was something that she didn't want.
So she was stuck.
"Jade?"
The brunette hadn't realized that she had never answered her counselor's question, or that her eyes had fallen to her belly. She looks up, and the concern in his eyes makes her tense, makes her anxious.
She hates when people are concerned about her.
"I'm fine," she tells him, her hand moving over her belly in slow circles, just the way her little girl likes.
"Are you sure you want to be a mother?" Lane asks her, leaning forward a bit.
Jade shifts in her seat. "I love my daughter more than anything in this world. All the scissors and coffee can't even compare, so trust me, that's a lot."
"I'm sure it is," Lane says with a small smile. "But that doesn't mean you're ready to be a mother and that's okay Jade."
Jade shakes her head. "Beck really wants to be a father."
"So you're doing this for Beck?"
"I don't do anything I don't want to," Jade shoots back. She shifts again, leaning back against the chair. "I'm just nervous I guess."
Lane nods, giving her a small smile. "That's understandable. Anyone having a child would be nervous."
Jade licks at her lips, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "How would you know? You don't have any kids."
Lane nods, leaning back against his chair and crossing his arms across his chest. "That's true, I don't have any kids. But you're not the first Hollywood Arts student to get pregnant and if I'm being honest, I doubt you will be the last, no matter how much I would like you to be. I've dealt with a number of pregnant teens."
"Yeah?" Jade asks, and Lane nods. "How many, um, how many of them have kept their kids?"
"A few," the counselor tells her.
