"OMG! Did you write these awake or asleep?" Nina asked looking into her notes as we packed for drama class.
"I don't know. Little of both maybe.", I said in response.
"Your handwriting sucks."
"Thanks, I know that too well. At least it'll be with you for the rest of the session.", I said smiling
"I don't have a choice do I?"
That was rhetoric but I still responded.
"No, you don't!"Caleb was sitting at the back lost in thought. I had a feeling this was about Sarah. Wow, the boy fell hard in love. I told Nina I'd be sitting at the back and walked over to Caleb. It was as I turned around to slide in my seat I saw her about doing the same in the next seat. I was happy she sat close this time but I fought hard to hide the smile playing on my lips. I tapped Caleb and whispered, "Brace up bro, Sarah won't want you this way."
He forced a smile and sat up.
I listened to Mr West teach while trying so hard to ignore the beauty at my side. I was unable to stop my eyes from turning to the side she sat. Our sights locked and heads turned sharply to the front. I think Caleb saw that as he was hiding a laugh. I shifted my gaze to him and he tried to act like he didn't notice a thing.
"We go to the gym this weekend", I whispered.
"I'm always up for workouts", he whispered back.
After the period, I sighted a pink diary in Nina's bag. That's really not unusual. Girls do keep diaries. I've never been a fan of diaries. I'd rather write poems and post some on wattpad. It's been my way of not forgetting anything.
It was soon long break and we walked to the cafeteria to buy lunch. We looked around, talked and munched during our time in the cafeteria. I was relieved T3 could no longer bully me even if they were around.
The rest of school hours went by in a flash. After school, Caleb and I were walking home with Nina. Caleb didn't bring his truck so he had to trek. I didn't know Nina's place was next to mine until Caleb turned in the direction of his and Nina and I moved on and got to my street.
She stopped walking and I turned my head in her direction.
"What's wrong?", I asked.
"You're not talking.", she replied.
"Oh. What do you wanna talk about?", I asked.
"The stealing of glances back in school maybe", she said.
I presented to look confused. I had words to say but they wouldn't come out.
"Huh?", that was me.
"There's nothing you wanna say to me?", she asked
I wanted to tell her she's beautiful, she has the most amazing eyes I've ever seen, she had the most lovely dark brown hair, that she looked pretty in her wears. I wanted to tell her how lost I loved to get just looking at her. I wanted to tell her I was in love with her but my mouth spoke a different thing, it didn't say the things I wanted. It followed the wrong command.
"There's nothing", I said with a forced smile.
"Oh, I thought you did but it's ok. I live here. Looks like we're neighbours huh"
I didn't know she moved in after summer. It's probably cause I'm more of an indoor person.
"oh, yes, we're. Guess we'll be seeing more often then.""Yeah, see you tomorrow"
I smile in response.
I watched her entire her house then unlocked the door to mine and entered. I went straight up to my room and looked through my window. I wanted to know if her room is opposite mine. I sat by the window for thirty minutes, yet, no sign of movement. I went down to nine toast and tea then took my legs back up. I sat for another hour with no sign still. I was about to leave the window to read when I heard a voice I think belongs to Nina's dad.
"Nina, won't you come down to eat?", I think I heard him say.
Yeeees! That's her room. Check!
I went to read happy. I knew this way, we could get closer and talk late nights through our windows.
