Prologue

What the fuck happened? The last thing I remember is I was at the carnival and was about to kiss Ruby. That's when everything blacked out. "Derek!" Said a voice, "Stay with me, Derek!" It said. "Stay with me, pal!" I open up my eyes to see a young White Fang medic. I look up to see him tending my gunshot wound. I put my head back down and groan in pain.

"Don't look at it! You're going to be fine!" He exclaimed. He injects me a small dose of Miracle and I calmed down. "Alright, you're good to go." He said as he finished bandaging up my wound. I get off the bed and walk around the base to see other injured White Fang soldiers. One was laying on a bed with a missing leg, an other had his head completely bandaged, and an other had his entire half of his body torched.

"Derek! You good to fight?" Asked a squad leader. I nodded yes, "Round up with the others and get back in the fight." He ordered. I follow a buch of other White Fang soldiers into an armored truck and it drives us to the battle. During the entire ride there nobody said a thing. One guy was breathing heavily and shaking. The truck then stopped and we got ready to charge. "Lowering the ramp in 3...2..1!" The back ramp fell down and we charge into battle. The first few got shot down real quick, but before I could even step one foot out, an rpg hits us.

I go flying in the air and hit the dirt ground dazed for a bit. I look up to see my rifle I pick it up and get back on my feet. I stumble around for a bit as the ringing in my ears still goes on. I see a White Fang soldier hiding behind the damaged armored truck crying, I see a legless soldier on fire screaming in pain, and a medic trying to calm down a bleeding soldier. "Derek!" It's that voice again. "Derek!" It cried out. "Derek, get down! You idiot!" Exclaimed a squad leader as he pulls me down into a foxhole.

"What the hell do we do now, sir?!" I asked, "We gotta take down the fucker on the heavy machine gun! I need you to-" he gets riddled with bullets before he could finish his order. I just look at his corpse for a bit and move on to the next squad leader. "Sir, what the hell do we do now?!" I ask, "You're going to distract the machine gun, while Sully snipes him." He ordered. I get ready to run like hell. "GO!" He yells out as I run into open fire, I hear the bullets whiz past me as I jump into an other foxhole. The heavy machine gunner keeps on firing as I hide.

The firing soon stops and I peek my head out to see the Atlas soldier lay dead on his gun. I charge in the with the others into the abandoned building. One of them gets shot down at the doorway. I hide behide cover as the Atlas soldier kept on firing. The instant he stopped I blind fired. I peek over to see him on ground motionless. We enter the building and walk pass the body only for it to get back up and shoot at us. He got the guy next me, but we light him up before he could shoot again. We exit at the other side of the building to see an Atlas tank. "Get down!" One of our guys said.

We all get down on our stomachs and wait for the tank to pass by. "Do you think it saw us?" Whispered one of our guys. The tank then stopped. "Why the hell did it stop? Did it see us?" Asked an other one of our guys. I looked around to see no other tanks are following it. I then get an idea. I get into crouching position and sneak my way to the tank. "Miller, what are you doing?" Whispered my squad leader, "Miller get your fucking ass back here!" He whispered as loud as he could. I get out an incendiary grenade, climbed on the top of the tank, opened the hatch, and throw the grenade inside the tank. I close the hatch and jump off the tank.

It goes off and Atlas soldiers come out on fire, screaming in pain. "Don't shoot! Let them burn!" I cry out. The other White Fang soldiers celebrate the stunt I managed to pull. We turn around to see two more tanks. "Oh shit! It wasn't alone!" Cried out one of our guys. We all scatter as the tank fires a shot at us. The medic and I hide inside one of the buildings. The tank aims at the building across from us where the other soldiers are hiding at. One of them looks at us with the face of defeat and mumbles some words, probably prayers.
