Chapter Four

The Phoenix's POV
I keep my finger pressed against the trigger, as the boy screams in excruciating pain. I notice something strange. His skin seems to heal immediately after it blisters. The boy soon stops screaming and I started to hear growling. I see his grimm arm spreading to the rest of his body. Black fur replacing his skin, his size growing bigger and bigger, his orange eyes starts to glow and white spikes growing out of his back. Once the kid's transformation was done, I look at him in utter shock. The beast let's out a mighty roar, snapping me out of my shock. I quickly distance myself and continue burning him, but it doesn't look like I'm doing any damage, just pissing him off. He swings his giant claw at me, I use my wings to block it only for a his attack to go right through my block. I go through a couple walls of a nearby building, I lay on ground recovering from the attack until I felt the monster's giant claw grab me by the leg.

I look into his blank glowing orange eyes, his breath fogs my visor as it opens it's mouth. I quickly grab an incendiary grenade and tossed it in his mouth. It blows up causing him to drop me. I quickly activate my jet back wings only for them to sputter like an old car. I look at the monster to see him recover from my attack. I try activating my jet back wings again, they work this time and I fly away. I hover in the sky and see Derek bust through the other side of the building. He then starts wreaking havoc in the streets of the city. I can't leave him here killing innocent people, my sister wouldn't want this!

Third person POV
Team RWBY enters their dorm room, "Fighting Vincent was harder than I thought!" Ruby said. "But I did get a good hit on him!" Yang said proudly. "I'm surprised he took on all of us." Weiss commented. "So what do we do now?" Blake asked, "We wait for Derek to come back." Ruby said as she sat down on the ground and turns on the TV. She flips through channels until one of them caught her attention.

A level three Derek attacking the streets of Vale. "A never before seen grimm is attacking the city. It seem to be some sort of hybrid of a Beowolf and an Ursa. It also looks like The Phoenix is trying to take down the grimm." The rest of the team gathers around Ruby and watches. "How are we going to do this without Lily?" Yang asked. "We don't have time, we'll make a plan on the way there!" Ruby ordered as they grab their weapons and leave. As they run through the hallway they see Ursula, "Hi friends!" she greeted, "Sorry Ursula, we don't have time to chat. Derek's gone level three!" Ruby said as she dashed past Ursula and bumped into Travis.

"Sorry Travis!" Ruby apologized as she quickly got up and continued running. Travis just gets back up, "What's with them?" he asked, "My best friend turned into a big monster and is doing mean things." Ursula answered. "Um... okay." Travis responded. Celia hides behind Ursula and hisses at him.

Travis gives Celia a funny look and continues walking. Ursula though notices Celia's strange behavior. "What is it, Mini-Derek?" she asks. Celia just points to Travis with a growl. Ursula looks at him as he walks away. "We should follow him." Johnny suggested. Ursula follows the puppet's advice and starts following Travis. Nathan notices her sudden departure. "Ursula where ya going?" She just ignores him as her and Celia keep on stalking. Nathan just let's out sigh and follows the girls.

Meanwhile Ozpin answers a call on his scroll, "Yes, I know what's happening with Derek! I've already sent an huntsman to handle the situation!" He says over the scroll. He listens silently at the callers response, "No! Don't send her! He doesn't have to die!" He exclaimed, but before he could protest any longer the caller hangs up on him.

As Derek causes chaos in the streets The Phoenix does what he can to stop him. He sets his flamethrower to shoot fireballs but they the flames seem like water off a duck's back to the monster. Derek picks up a car and tosses it at The Phoenix. He dodges just in time only for the vehicle to hit building behind him. The vehicle explodes causing the building to go up in flames. The Phoenix quickly goes to the rescue of anyone inside. Police show up and open fire on Derek.
