Music was practically blaring in my ears as I drew on my computer. I was honestly surprised I didn't wreck my hearing from how often I did this. 'This' being animating while listening to my favorite playlist through my phone, that is.

The music was so loud I didn't hear the ping of text after text coming from my phone. I only noticed when the sound of an incoming phone call.

Turning off my music, I saw it was my friend Jaiden calling me. I answered.

"Hey Jaiden, what's up?" I asked cheerfully, spinning around in my wheelie chair like a child.

"Hey (Y/n)! Nothing much. I was just wondering if you wanted to be my plus one to VidCon this year? I didn't realize that I could bring a friend, since I'm a 'creator.'" Jaiden laughed on the other end of the line, but I stopped listening after "VidCon."

Like Jaiden, I was also an animator with a YouTube channel. Although I didn't have nearly as many subs, the exposure of going to VidCon would be phenomenal. Not to mention that I would be able to see my favorite creators.

"(Y/n)?" Jaiden spoke again, and I came back down to earth. "You still there?"

"Yeah," I replied casually, trying (and failing) to mask my excitement. Jaiden chuckled at my giddiness.

"Who else is going?" I changed the subject.

"Well, the plan was to catch a plane with James, then meet some other animators once we get to VidCon." Jaiden replied.

"Alright. Well count me in." I broke out into a smile.

"Great!" She cheered, nearly as excited as I was. "Well, you'd better get packing, because the plane leaves at six tomorrow."

"What?!" I yelled, now up and out of my seat.

"Sorry!" Jaiden apologized, "I know it's kinda short notice, but I can pick you up, if that makes up for it?"

"No no, it's fine." I reassured Jaiden, my response muffled due to the fact that I was rummaging through my closet, packing furiously.

"Alright, well I'll see you at six." Jaiden said cheerfully, and we said goodbye.

It took a few more hours after that to pack, mostly because I had no idea what to bring. At eleven I was finally done, and practically had to crawl into bed.

I was going to need a good night's sleep for tomorrow.
