I struck at the large Adelwood and it fell in one stroke,  satisfied with today's earnings I let something long forgotten happen,  a laugh. Although this time it was strange and maniacal not particularly evil but...wrong.

My new physical appearance was something hard to get used to,  but the loneliness was overwhelming. A year had passed and rumours grew about a new Beast terrorising the Unknown. It's ironic, really I was just trying to save Greg and now people fear me. A poem had risen into my head, as i slid onto the mossy log.

A single leaf blows

In the distant winds of change

Slowly , does it turn

In the distant winds of change

"Beast. " I stated with my eyes closed still,  "Yes, child I see your instincts are sharp. You're probably wondering why I am here, I have something to tell you. " Alert and frightened I stood up, a terrified expression showing.  "Several townspeople are coming to kill you, boy. " I had tried to interact with people beforehand, but they all ran away on sight,  even Beatrice was crying and sprinted.

"Fine then.  I'll leave this area,  under nightfall." Pleased with my announcement, The Beast slipped into the shadows, out of sight. Darkness fell,  but I didn't mind. In the dark it was easier to go unnoticed. Darkness. It haunted my dreams and conscience, although since I made the deal I never slept anyway. In fact I ate and drank very little, again proving how far I really was from human.
