Chapter 3: Stuck In purgatory

Hours had passed,  and Greg was the only light leading the way through the misty twilight covering the forest. Towering trees shadows threatened passerby, but how could I be scared since the most horrific thing in the woods were me?  As I reached the frozen river, I tested it... the ice seemed stable, so I glid over it. As I stepped through the thick mud, a scream escaped "Ahh!" I fell into the mud on my face and lost grip of the lantern, "Nooo! Greg!" but the last thing I saw before i sank into the mud was just a puzzled frog.  Frogs.  Frogs!

 This must be where the Frog Ferry stops! I struggled to breath as think warm mud started filling my nostrils, this is it. All this time I knew I was in purgatory, it always lingered as the answer to all my unanswered questions. "Why are there people from multiple time periods?  Why would we be in an unknown forest, even though me and Greg passed out from almost drowning?  And why was there magic?"  

Sleep lulled my eyelids to close,  but I resisted, I didn't want to die!  I am afraid! Mud stung my eyes and lungs.  I don't want t-
