"S-Sakura-chan?" Naruto whispered, his face drained of all color and his eyes wide with disbelief.

Sasuke could only stare at the girl who had told him she loved him. When did she-? How did she-?

Sakura Haruno laughed coldly, a sound that sent chills down her teammates' spines. "Please refrain from speaking my name in such an intimate manner, Uzumaki-baka." She casually wiped the blood of her cheek, flinging it away with a flick of her fingers. She herself was unscathed, but when you kill a few dozen people in a matter of seconds, the blood tends to spray. She stood between Sasuke and Naruto, her feet in a large-and still growing-pool of crimson.

The level of carnage done to the bodies twisted Sasuke's gut. It only made it worse that every single one of them had been a Konoha ninja. Sakura had massacred them brutally; they never stood a chance.

Sasuke wretched inwardly. Sakura had gone from an average medic to an S-ranked criminal in a blink, and what confused him most was why. She had a life, a family, a home. Or did she?

He realized for the first time that he didn't know. He didn't know a thing about this girl.

Naruto was clearly following a similar train of thought to Sasuke's, his face a blend of horror, shock, and confusion.

Sasuke forced down his nausea and made himself acknowledge every single one of the mangled corpses. Kakashi-sensei, eye frozen open in shock. Tsunade-sama, recognizable only by her Yin Seal-which had not even had time to activate. And the others: Iruka, Sai, Kiba, Kurenai, Neji, Ino, Asuma, Chouji, Hinata, Genma, Shikamaru, Ibiki, Rock Lee, Anko, Tenten, Jiraiya, Shino, Gai, and so many others who were too destroyed to be recognizable.

The entire Konaha 12, and two of the Legendary Sannin. And it hadn't taken her more than a minute.

Sasuke stared at the head of pink hair as she smiled chillingly at Naruto. What had happened to his teammate?

He knew that they didn't stand a chance against her if they took her head on, and she could undoubtedly avoid a sneak attack easily. The only option was to run, so run they did.

She did not follow them into the forest. She had no reason to. In fact, it was better this way. Run little mice. Run and tell the others what I've done. Run and pray I don't come a-chasing.

She walked through the bodies, kicking them aside. As she walked, she hummed a tune under her breath.

Ring around the rosies,

She wiped more blood off her face, and smiled at Tsunade and Kakashi as she passed them.

Pockets full of posies.

She picked up a few of her scattered kunai and shuriken, carelessly yanking them out of the bodies they were imbedded in.

Ashes, ashes,

She drew near to Hinata and Ino's bodies and silently examined their terrified faces. She almost wanted to laugh. This is what you get darlings. This is what you get, for thinking I was weak. Her expression soured. You won't be making that mistake again.

We all fall down.
