Chapter 32- Who's going down?
As Adrian and I entered the gym, I noticed that the girls were all huddled together arguing about what part of the routine would be best to reveal at the game while not giving too much away. I laughed slightly drawing their attention to me, before Harry walked through the door and came to my side. I passed him my unopened lunch and cleared my throat, looking around the room at my 'troops'. No one really said anything as I thought of a way to make my plan form into proper sentences that wouldn't confuse them.
"Alright, so Adrian was able to find out who our culprits were and naturally Lindsey was involved and said she would only tell us who the person who helped her was if we let her back on the squad, so temporarily she will be back on the team..." I said the end cautiously, looking at Aria for her approval of Lindsey being added back to the squad. "The other culprit turned out to be Izzy..." I continued, earning a gasp of shock from those around the room.
"Why the hell would your girlfriend help Lindsey?" Aria spoke first, as Harry stared at me, no words coming out of his mouth.
"...Ex-Girlfriend as of this morning..." I sighed, looking directly at Harry.
He didn't say anything, as he continued to stare at me. I looked him in the eye and waited to see if anything would happen, but he didn't react. After a moment of silence, I looked away from him and tried to regain my focus. I did not know what I could possibly say when I was looking at him; ever since I woke up this morning after that strange dream of he and I, my thoughts weren't working straight.
"Anyway, my plan is that we use Lindsey's own idea against her... If she wants illegal stunts, we'll give them to her and make it look to Principal Howard that it was all her idea."
"And how will we do that?" Bridget pipped up.
"That, I cannot really tell you guys, because as much as I trust you all, we never know who may really still be on Lindsey's side, so you'll just have to wait and see, but Aria will know the entire step later today." Bridget didn't say anything as she pouted at my answer.
"Well what about Izzy?" Adrian said from behind me.
"Simple. We don't need to do anything; she'll mess everything up all by herself." I shrugged looking around the group.
The gym was filled with silence as everyone tried to find a flaw in the plan. I knew there were many of them, but no one had any better idea to get us back in the championship without causing a total school soap opera. I'd been thinking about anything that could be done differently with this plan, yet not completely ruin it, but nothing could help the plan, so we'd have to make do with what I'd been able to think of for now.
"So how the hell are we going to get Lindsey to even do these stunts?" One of the quieter cheerleaders finally spoke for everyone else in the room.
"Well, does she really read the guidelines of what can and can't be done at a cheer event?" I asked the group.
"HA, I'd be surprised if she ever opened anything besides her legs." Adrian snorted from behind me, causing me to turn and give him a warning look.
He shrugged, giving me a wink and I sighed, looking to Aria since they did work closely together. "Well, I was always the one who handled things like that, so no she shouldn't know much about the guidelines." Aria said thoughtfully. I nodded, pulling out my phone, sending her a message to make sure that the illegal moves she chose would be difficult for Lindsey and the team to even detect until we were able to show and tell Principal Howard about it.
"Alright, well if that's all I'm going to leave now..." Harry said, gaining my attention.
"I'll go with you... We're all done here..." I mumbled.
Adrian and Aria gave me a knowing look and I shook my head, following Harry out of the gym, just as the girls started cheering 'Who's going down?', on the stands created when I joined earlier this year. I smiled slightly, as the doors shut behind me and I rushed to keep up pace with Harry as he rushed away from the gym.
