My blonde hair is a curtain, shadowing over my face hiding my worrisome tears. I have no idea why the vampires would want me, especially for my eyes.
They are truly sick monsters, and I could never understand why they do what they do sometimes. I know that I am just getting way over my head and thinking about this too much, but how can I refrain by being so rude? They're coming to "collect" me.
Brodie's large warm hands come to my shoulders bringing me back to my reality, and I look up at him.
"Why do they want me?" I whisper, looking up at him with glossy eyes. He responds with a simple I don't know, and holds me close to him. I hold on and cry into his chest. I haven't been able to get to know him well and I am already so comfortable with him. I rarely am able to cry in front of others, but his soft touch and caring nature just seems to give my tears a little nudge.
Brodie rubs my back slowly and my sobs seem to get quieter and quieter, thankfully. I wouldn't want the vampires to come back and see me like this. I would not show weakness to them!
After a while I am completely mentally stable and I thank Brodie immensely. "No problem darling." It rolls of his tongue so seductively and I cannot stop the blush that rises to my cheeks. I turn myself away and do a few random turns on the sand before facing him again.
He looks at me oddly and I get embarrassed by my "playful" attitude and look down at my bare feet. "Why aren't you wesring shoes my darling?" Brodie asks, bending down to my feet worriedly.
"Faeries don't really need shoes because we fly mainly." I state, curling my blue painted toes into the sand.
I guess that I am not the only one who notices the blue before he looks me up and down, "Why do you only wear blue?"
I giggle at his cute confused face, since he clearly doesn't know the ways of the faeries. "Well," I start, rocking back and forth on the heels of my feet, "faeries worship our eyes, and mine are blue and brown, so I must only stick to those colours." I look down and frown slightly, embarrassed by the brown.
"Well, I bet your eyes are the most beautiful pair in the whole forest!" He shouts, puffing his chest out and smiling adorably.
"Actually, I am at the bottom of the list.." I chuckle humourlessly, wringing my hands together in front of me.
I hear a soft growl abrupt from his throat, "Why?" He instantly is in front of me and I flinch back. Brodie takes a step away apologizing.
"Because of the speck in my eye, it isn't perfect." I shrug it off like it is nothing, and Brodie sighs holding my face in the palm of his hands.
"They are perfect to me, and I don't care what any faerie law says, you're at the top of my list." He smiles and looks into my eyes, and I look deeply into his brown ones.
He stops suddenly and pulls away, "I am truly sorry, and I promise we shall not cross over onto your land again, even though your deer is truly delicious." He smiles and turn to look over at the vampires coming up to us.
I nod shyly but surely and turn around to look at them as well. "Hello again." I smile and bow my head showing my submission to them both. The blonde one, Damien i think his name was, smiles back. The other vampire gives no move to change his expression as he grabs my wrist and tugs me along.
"Goodbye beta Brodie." He says coldly.
I look back to see Brodie's brown eyes now black, but before they can notice he turns into his wolf and runs away.
"I am very sorry sir, but why are you taking me?" I question, wincing at the tight grip on my wrist.
"Because my dear faerie, you are very strong and.. Wanted by us." Spence smiles mischievously at Damien and I cringe slightly at what he means by that.
I look down at my feet that seem to be crushing hard onto small branches, cutting into the bottom of my feet. "May I shift into my winged form? My feet seem to be getting hurt sir."
Spence sighs before stopping abruptly, forcing me to crash into his back. "I do not trust you.. Yet." He states, before snapping his fingers and flicking his hand up at Damien.
Damien seems to understand his sign language as he swiftly picks me up, his cold hands holding onto my thighs as im thrown over his shoulder. I huff and sway with his walk, watching his long legs carefully.
At least its the lesser of two evils.
Speaking of evils, my mind trails into odd thoughts about why they would want me. Do they need me for testing? Do they wish to just simply talk to me? Am I called upon by the vampire Lord?
I freeze slightly and my whole body tenses, thinking of the worst of the worst. Maybe they need me for mating. It has been known that since faeries are the most beautiful of the species, that they have been used for sexual pleasures. It has been made illegal now because of the worry for cross bred babies, but the vampires are in charge and may not care for that law?
I shake my head, thinking that it would get the thought out of my brain, but I am stupid because it is still there.
I take my eyes away from the ground and attempt to look up at Spence, who seems to be frustrated by something, but maybe he just constantly looks like that.
"So, how has your day been?" I start awkwardly.
"It has been swell, I've been happy to have gone training again." Damien sounds cheery and Spence seems to just roll his eyes at him.
"It isn't that exciting." Spence snaps his head over at him, walking towards a clearing. I now am able to see the huge castle ahead belonging to the vampires. I haven't exactly seem it before, but I have been told of how beautiful it is inside and out.
"Wow." I mumble under my breath.
"Yeah, better than your tree holes that you faeries call home." Spence scoffs, clearly not caring for my love of my forest.
I like my tree hole..
