My dark brown eyes glance around the forest sniffing the air, my pack and I are deciding to sniff out the faeries land while they're all cramped into their small field. They once a year celebrate their King and Queens mating, and that's our one time of year to get our food. They've taken majority of the thicker forests, which gives us less room to run which is why we took the lesser tree'd area. But that doesn't mean we still want their animals.
My nose twitches as it catches the scent of a deer and I dash after it with fury, hoping to not lose it. I finally see it in my sight and I quickly am able to catch up with my long legged light brown wolf, but I'm too late to pounce when an all familiar black wolf engulfs it.
"Alpha, as much as we appreciate your flawless hunting skills, I think you should let us all do our own work sometimes." I chuckle out to him after shifting to human form, even though I'm naked us werewolves are used to it, even in front of the women, but the women tend to be more secretive of their parts which is understandable.
Not that I mind when they aren't so shy.
Well what fun would that be? The Alpha mind links me since he's in his wolf form still, and I shake my head at his wolf's airy laugh when I take out string tied around my ankles and attach it to the deer before dragging it towards our territory.
"Here, I'll take it." I turn to see my alpha in all his glory, he stands tall at 6'0, and his brown eyes like mine look down at my slightly smaller 5'11" frame.
Werewolves tend to be bigger, but we are usually shorter compared to vampires, but our builds tend to be bigger. I smirk to myself as I imagine breaking a vampires tooth pick arm and shake my head handing the deer to my alpha. "I'll go and try to gather to others and check the perimeter if anybody got lost"
"My best beta, thank you." A nod in response as a sign of obedience and shift to my wolf before running the perimeter.
After a while deeper into the forest and I've called back a few wolves, I get hit with the most beautiful of scents. Almost like flowers and mint together. I halt and turn to the scent ignoring my current orders, as I get closer my wolf gets excited, mate.
Cody's ruff voice much like mine echoes in my mind, he rarely speaks to me, but when he does it always makes my head churn.
My mate? I mean I'm excited to have finally found her but I'm only 19, what if she wants a family? Okay okay, not too far ahead. It'll be fine! Is she in my pack? She mus- would you stop being a nervous wreck, our mate deserves better.
I huff and roll my eyes at Cody, before I reach the source of the scent but I see nothing. I shift and look between trees, "Show yourself! You must not be afraid."
I mentally hit myself and so does my wolf, saying as though I'm naked and shouting to a possibly empty area.
I sigh and lean against a tree closing my eyes, I should've figured.
"Why would I be afraid, when you're trespassing my forest?" My eyes snap open to the most angelic voice. There stands a girl with soft blonde hair cascading down to her waist, and her blue dress ripped at the bottom caressing her legs and curves with care, and I look up to her tiny nose and her light pink lips before I reach her eyes.
They're different, light blue with a brown speckle in one, they're- beautiful.
But in a flash her eyes widen and she's gone. I flinch and I lean over to look behind the tree. "Wow you're fast."
No shit Sherlock.
I roll my eyes mentally and look down to see myself naked and face palm physically this time. "I should've covered myself I am so very sorry."
I look around seeing leaves but none big enough to cover myself, don't get too arrogant.
No I just mean- whatever.
"It's not what bothered me, what bothers me is what you are." I turn around to see her yet again but beside me, her head reaching just below my shoulder and I look down as she looks up.
"What I am? I'm a werewolf." Her eyes close for longer and she sighs, "o-or are you worried of my standing, because I'm a beta if you wish for a higher mate." I smirk a bit and she shakes her head before looking away.
"Then what is it darling?" The name slips off my tongue and I regret saying it almost, almost.
She looks me in the eyes and she sighs, "Don't you know what I am?" I shake my head until I take a sniff for the first time past her scent that called me, and I realize there is now wolf in her.
"You're a faerie?"
