Chapter Nine

Forceful Evictions

I approached the tall fence surrounding the gate and crawled through the small hole I had made. I pushed open the large doors and cursed at what I saw.

Edward freaking Cullen.

I cursed under my breath as I stood frozen at the door, debating whether to run or not. The expression on my face must have amused him as he cracked a smile and chuckled lightly. He held his hands up in front of him before sitting down on one of the crates strewn around the room.

"I just want to talk." He stated, lowering his hands and resting them in his lap.

"You can talk while leaving." I sneered, positioning myself against the side of the door. I looked at him directly and dared him to argue. He pursed his lips and the smallest of sighs escaped his nose.

"I just want to talk... please." He forced out each word with clenched teeth, as though he were trying not to scream them.

I groaned internally. Was it a fact that vampires were more stubborn than humans? Because it sure as hell seemed that way. Sliding down to the dusty floor, my back resting against the doorframe I let my head roll towards him and rest on my shoulder.

"Make it quick, I still stink of vinaigrette." I muttered. I'd rather scream at him and demand that he leave but honestly, most of my energy had already been wasted on him enough for today.

His eyes widened considerably as his lips parted slightly. He obviously hadn't expected me to cave in so easily. A few moments of awkward silence passed between us as he continued to stare at me with the same surprised expression. Closing his mouth and slapping his hand together, he looked down at then before looking back up at me.

"Why... Why do you hate us?" He asked quietly, his eyes drifting to the vast space that separated us. I looked at him for several seconds before shrugging my shoulders out of habit.

"You don't know?" He asked, his words slow and calculative. Looking away from him I let another shrug overtake my limbs.

"You agreed to talk so talk to me!" He shouted, standing up from the crate and taking a step towards me. I looked up at him for several seconds before slowly standing up myself. Walking slowly I stepped towards him, my gaze directed to the ground I watched the dust vibrate and swirl with every step. Once I reached him I looked up.

"I agreed that you could talk and you've done that. So get out." I hissed, malice surrounding my hateful tone and caressing it compassionately. We stared at each other for several seconds as his jaw clenched and I clenched repeatedly. His nostrils flared he spoke calmly.

"If that's how you want to be then fine. I tried playing nice." Before I had time to even respond his arm had already wrapped around my waist and heaved me over his shoulder. I kneed him in the chest as hard as I could and slammed my fist down on his back.

"What the hell-" kick "do you-" punch "think you're doing!" I repeatedly kicked and screamed as he silently walked us out of the warehouse, closing the doors behind us.

I began to break out in a cold sweat as he continued to walk. I knew this was going to happen! They were toying with me all along and now him and his family are going to tear me apart! I should have left the second I saw them. This is what I get for being so god damn stupid! He opened a car door and shoved me in the backseat as best he could with me kicking and screaming at him. With one last push he slammed the car door shut before sitting in the drivers seat. I tried to open the door in one last vain attempt but I knew it wouldn't work.

I grabbed the locket around my neck and began frantically tracing it's grooves as my heart rate picked up rapidly.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked shakily, desperately trying to contain the fear that plagued my voice but failing miserably.

"Home." He replied starkly as he slowly pulled away from the warehouse and began driving up the road.

"Your home!" I screamed, punching the back of his seat with as much force as I could muster. I pulled it back instantly and cradled it in my lap as pain consumed it.

"Our home." He stated. I rolled my eyes. You have got to be kidding me. With every moment that passed he drove exceeding faster, breaking the speed limit by a ridiculously high number. Sighing I leaned back in the chair, desperately trying to think of an idea, a plan anything.

Laying down on the seat I gripped on whatever I could and smashed my foot against the window. he looked back and screamed something at me but I couldn't hear him over the shattering of the window as I kicked it again. A callous hand of unrelenting pain gripped my ankle and foot as I crawled towards the shattered window. He slammed his foot on the brakes as he saw what I was planning to do. Not wanting to risk another second I threw myself forward, crawling through the small gap as best as I could while avoiding the small shards of glass.

My foot got caught just as my grip on the car faltered. falling to the ground I grabbed a handful of gravel and pulled myself forward and fully out of the car. Pushing myself up off the ground I didn't dare look back. I ran forward, towards the trees. I looked left and right but there was only road. At least in the forest I would have a chance of losing him. Before I even reached the tree closest to me arms encircled my waist and roughly pulled me backwards. Desperately clawing and trying to push myself away from him he released his grasp on me and let me fall to the ground. Lying still on the small slope of grass I propped myself up with my elbows as I looked up at him. A severe anger that I had never witnessed before raged in his raven black eyes. His fists were clenched tightly at his sides.

"What the hell were you thinking!" He roared, the very earth trembling from his rage. My lip began to quiver and I couldn't stop it.

"You could have been killed!" He screamed. Fear overwhelmed me and froze me to the spot as traitorous tears began to fall down my cheeks. His entire demeanor softened considerably as the scowl lifted from his face. Pinching the bridge of his nose his sighed audibly.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Just promise me you won't do that again?"

I kicked him in the shin.

"Screw you." I spat. He huffed and ran his hand threw his hair before leaning forward, grabbing both my arms and pulling me up from the ground. Keeping a firm grasp on my wrist he pulled me back towards the car and round the side to the passenger seat. Opening the door he gently pushed me inside and put my seatbelt on for me. I scowled at him the entire time until he was back in his seat and driving. He was too fast for me to outrun, so that left only one option. I looked down at the steering wheel that his hands were tightly curled around. One small tug and the car would lose control an-

"Don't you dare." He growled, sparing a glance towards me as he continued to drive.

"What?" I asked defensively.

"You know exactly what."

I clenched my teeth and sunk back in the chair with crossed arms. There was no way out of the car, but there was no way I was going down without a fight.
