Chapter Five

Run

"The hell' are you doing in my house?" I asked taking a step back towards the wall.

"Your house? You live here?" Edward asked, staring at me intently as if he were deciding whether to eat me or not.

"No I'm just sleeping here!" I exclaimed sarcastically. I rolled my eyes at his ignorance and took another step backwards.

"Don't be afraid, we're not going to hurt you." The woman with caramel coloured hair stepped towards me, holding out a long elegant arm. She opened her hand and gestured for me to take it.

"Are you on crack or something? I'm not going with you!" I breathed before slapping her hand away and dashing for the front door. I burst through them and ran into the woods, tripping over my own feet several times. I came across a small stream and stopped. Looking up at the moon I felt slightly consoled. I turned around and gasped in surprise when the four of them stepped out of the trees.

The light from the moon illuminated their perfect features to a certain extent where it was hard to look at them.

"What do you want?" Fear gripped me, they couldn't have found me already. I only just got away from. Away from the needles. Away from the torture. Away from the sadness.

"We're not going to hurt you, we just want to ask you a few questions. And we want you to answer them honestly, okay." Edward said, stepping forward from the others. I instinctively stepped back, afraid of what he might do.

"You can ask questions from over there vampy!" I spat, hatred clouding my vision. His eyes widened, followed by the other three.

"What did you call me?" He asked slowly and deliberately. I pinched the bridge of my nose, annoyed that I had to spend my time talking to a bunch of imbeciles.

"I called you vampy. What's the matter, you prefer blood-sucker?" I took another step back, not once blinking.

"You know what we are?" The golden haired man asked.

"Naaaaaaa." Of course I knew who they were, their kind tortured me for most of my life. Their teeth sunk into my flesh countless times. "Now what do you want?" I asked impatiently, feeling on edge having their kind so close to me.

"Where did you get that locket? And this time don't lie!" Edward said angrily. I scowled at him, what the hell did he have to be angry about.

"I've had it since birth, I guess my real parents gave it to me or something." I replied defeated. If I told them the truth, the sooner they would leave me alone. Hopefully.

"Would you mind coming back to our home? Just to have a small chat?" The smaller petite woman asked, her tone nothing but friendly. I scoffed at her offer. How freaking gullible did they think I was?

"So you can have some dinner? I don't think so." I scowled at all of them, and once again, took another step back.

"We're not like that-" Bella began before i cut her off.

"I don't care what your like! Just get the hell away from me!" I screamed. My chest rising and falling rapidly from my short outburst.

"Melody, we think... We think your our daughter." Edward whispered, seeming somewhat pleased and yet sad at the same time.

My eyes widened, and my heart began beating uncontrollably. Sweat began collecting on my forehead and my breathing elated. That can't be true. It can't be. How can it be true?

"It is true, just look at us, don't you see the resemblance?" He asked, quirking his eyebrow at me, impatiently waiting for a response.

I mentally slapped myself, now looking the two of the mover it was impossible to miss the similarities. I had Bella's heart shaped face, Edwards hair, Bella's eyes. But it still can't be true. How can I be related to a vampire? I'm the complete opposite to them. Their kind tortured me for years. I spun around and ran deeper into the woods, refusing to answer their calls and come back.
