Somehow, Sarah and I managed to not get suspended and we didn't even get points. (Points are things we get for being late for class or not doing homework. You get a detention after 40 points and they are classified like C1=Mild 5 points, H4=serious 5 points, J1=Mild 10 points and J4 or K1=Severe 10 points). Believe it or not the school went mental from that day on, so much so that the whole school got evacuated three days in a row, nobody was allowed in or out of the school at lunch and nobody ever got a proper explanation for it. So obviously I knew I would be questioned so I told Alex he should be happy I didn't rat on him as a joke but he didn't laugh.
"What's up?" I ask
"I just got a call from Ella, she called me from her school..."
"Oh...what happened?"
"My friend, Ryan....He's dead." his voice cracked.
My heart sank. I had never seen him this sad before. I gave him a hug and told him I would always be there for him. Every day I'd ask him how he was holding up but he seemed to perk up after three days, suspicious but I brushed it off. Alisha informed me that he used to take acting classes so I shouldn't believe everything he said because in all the years she's known him, this was the first she was hearing about "Ella" and "Ryan". I took her advice
I cant remember all the gory details but it was just before Summer, Sebastian and I started talking again. Slowly but surely we became friends again. But it wasn't all I had wanted it to be, I mean I was over the moon that we were on good terms it's just, his company really irritated me. I remember Alisha telling me she was talking to Alex and Sebastian had overheard their conversation.
"Alex, would you go out with Aly?"
"I dunno.."
"What do you like about her?"
Sebastian walks over and leans against the wall next to Alisha.
"Yeah Alex, what do you like about her, hm?" he said as if he was hinting at something.
Alex turned and they were squaring up to each other, he grabbed Sebastian by his jumper and raised his fist to punch him but he slipped out of his grip and he ended up punching the wall instead of Sebastian. Alisha just looked on in amazement, she had just witnessed what she thought was my crush and my ex fighting over me. The way Alisha told me Sebastian asked the question was kind of a 'nobody-can-love-her-the-way-I-did'--esque kind of way. I was just as surprised as she was. Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that Alex didn't really like Sebastian after what he did to me, but sure who knows.
From the last day of school all through Summer, Alex and I spent practically every day together, obviously with Alisha's company but she was always doing something so it was always basically just me and him. I met him at a disco about a week after school finished up, so Summer was off to a good start already.
