I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock screaming in my ears to wake me up for school. I got up out of my bed and went into my restroom to get ready for the day.

Then I went downstairs to get myself some breakfast. "Hmmmmmm....what to eat...... Cereal it is," I sighed as this was the fourth day in a row I've had cereal for breakfast. As i was taking the last bite of my cereal, my mom came downstairs. "Morning," I said
"Morning sweetie. Be sure to come home on time today ok, Y/n. Me and your Dad have something we need to talk to you about and it is very important." I nodded. "Do I have to get a job or something," I asked.
"No but that's a topic for another time."
"Alright," I replied and went upstairs to get my backpack and brush my teeth.
~skip to when you come back home after school~
I stepped through the doorway to the house with my Dad following behind me. Inside I saw my mom and the twins sitting on the couches in the living room waiting for us. I sat down on the love seat with the twins across from my parents.
This is so awkward. What's going on?
I was taken out of my thoughts when Dad started speaking, "Your mom has gotten a job promotion at work." "Whoo! That's great mom," I said. "Aaaaaannnnnnndddd......we have to move in order for her to get that promotion," Dad completed. I just stopped and looked at my parents.
We have lived in y/c (your city) since I was born. We grew up here and we don't know anything different, how do they expect us to just leave like this?
"Are you serious?" I asked as my voice started cracking.
"Are you ok Y/n because I can definitely turn down this offer for your guy's sake. There will be plenty more opportunities and it is not worth you guys suffering. After all family comes first," Mom said sweetly.
"It's ok mom. You can take the offer. It's not that big of a deal anyways, we're just moving. I'll survive," I said with a warm smile as my eyes started watering.
I don't want my mom to feel like she has to give up all of this just for us. This is a great opportunity and who knows what will happen.
Besides, this change of scenery might help me get away from them and everything. I don't think this is a good city for me to be in, and nothing can change that.
My mom looked so happy that we said that. If she's happy then I'm happy. She leaned over and hugged me. I can tell she was relieved. "We'll be leaving on Sunday so start packing," she said.
"So where are we moving to anyways," I asked trying to look on the bright side of things.
