A.N.: Hey I'm back with another chapter ^^
Enjoy~
Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson or any other characters.
Before: I flash into the Hunters camp, and see them grouped around something.
What are they doing all huddled around? Shouldn't they be searching? Hm... or maybe they've found him. Who knows? I might as well go see what they're up to.
"Artemis! What are you doing? Shouldn't you be searching for my lost son?" I walk toward the small group and see... my son? Why is he lying on the ground... in a pool of... blood? And what is that sticking out of his arm?
Then it hits me.
It's an arrow. They shot him.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY SON???" I almost completely lose control. "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO FIND HIM, NOT KILL HIM!"
Just then, Zeus flashes beside me. "Why are you making such a racket, brother?" Then he spots Percy. Zeus is silent.
Artemis tries to calm me, "No, wait, Uncle, I can explain--"
"THEY SHOULD BE DISBANDED IMMEDIATELY!"
Now:
Poseidon's P.O.V.
They must be disbanded. They have to be. It's just not fair to Percy if they're not.
"Alright, brother, I guess this does mean disbandment for the Hunte--" Zeus starts.
"N-no, please, Father... please, they don't have anywhere else to be!" Artemis says, almost in tears.
"Your Hunters did shoot Percy, daughter..." And then he murmurs under his breath "About four times."
"B-but--"
"No buts. Need I remind you again that my word is law?"
Artemis is silent as she hangs her head, looking thoroughly depressed.
"Daughter, I think you and your Hunters should leave for a moment and let your Uncle and I discuss matters." Zeus says.
"Yes, Father."
Artemis and the other girls stand up and leave.
Zeus and I look at each other wordlessly. Then, Zeus breaks the silence.
"There isn't much to discuss, is there?"
I shake my head, but I understand why he asked them to leave. He'd wanted to ask me one last time...
"Poseidon, brother, are you sure you have to--"
"Yes."
Zeus sighs and says, "I guess this really does mean disb--"
"...No..." Percy's voice is quiet, and his eyes are closed... is he sleeping? "Don't disband them... It's not their faultsszzZ..."
My face softens as my son speaks.
Zeus is hesitant. "So does this mean...?"
I sigh and say, "I guess this means the Hunters are safe from disbandment for now, until Percy wakes up and confirms his decision."
"Daughter, come here." Zeus calls.
Artemis walks toward us, head down. Then, when she reaches us, she looks up.
"We have decided to postpone your disbandment, at least until Perseus wakes up." I say.
"Thank you, Uncle!"
"It isn't me you should thank. It's Percy." I say.
Artemis frowns, confused. "Percy?"
"We'll explain later." I say. Then, I add, "Speaking of Perseus, we will take him to Olympus to be healed by Apollo."
Zeus and I flash back to Olympus with Perseus in tow.
Artemis' P.O.V.
After they leave, I call my Hunters and say, "I have something to tell you."
They look at me, terrified.
"We will... not have to be disbanded!"
The Hunters looked shocked and relieved as they cheer.
However, my mind is on Perseus. What did Poseidon mean when he said, 'It isn't me you should thank. It's Percy'? Maybe Percy woke up? Surely he'll be okay, right?
Poseidon's P.O.V.
We arrive at the throne room of Olympus and summon Apollo.
"Yes, Father, do you need something?" He asks Zeus.
"Apollo, I need you to heal Perseus."
"Heal? What happened to him?" Apollo asks, frowning.
"Oh... he may have been shot... by the Hunters..."
"O-o-okay..." Apollo says, dragging out the 'o'. "I won't even question it. I'll just do what I'm here to do - other than being hot, of course." [A.N.: Haha you see what I did there - er, I mean, what Apollo did there? Hot? 'Cuz he's the sun god? You get it? Sorry, I'll shut up now :(]
I shake my head in exasperation, and ignore the comment/pun. [A.N.: FINE BE LIKE THAT, POSEIDON. WHEN I DIE, I'LL MAKE SURE MY PLAQUE SAYS, 'Not appreciating my puns when I was alive was a grave mistake.' Ha... ha... Okay, sorry, please don't kill me... I'm innocent... kind of... ^~^ See? So innocent!!]
I look Apollo in the eye and ask, "You can heal him... right?"
He looks offended. "Uncle, are you doubting my awesomeness... skills...?" [A.N.: Well... maybe I'm doubting your awesomeness skills? Just maybe??]
I look away and mutter, "Kind of..."
"Hey, I heard that, Uncle!" Apollo protests.
"Good. Your ego needs to be knocked down a notch or two." I say firmly. "Now, heal Perseus."
This sobers him up. "This is pretty serious though."
Then, seeing my expression, he adds, "It's not that I can't heal him - I can. It's just that if you'd waited too long, he could have died. The poison in his body is really..." He doesn't continue, but there's no need for him to say any more.
I'm silent, almost starting to regret my decision to wait before deciding whether to disband the Hunters or not.
I guess Zeus could see it on my face, because he puts a hand on my shoulder and says, "It's okay, brother. It's what Perseus would have wanted."
Honestly, I sometimes think that my son is too kind...
Then, I leave Percy to be healed by Apollo before flashing away.
A.N.: Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter (sorry about the puns... it was just too tempting. I couldn't resist...).
Also, sorry for the short chapter (not including all the A.N.s)... it's almost 3 AM right now, and I'm tired. I just couldn't find the time to update, because I was absent for a week from school, and now I have to make things up...
Okay, before I say anything else, I'm going to shout someone out: BadWolfMoose174. They're an amazing writer (at least, compared to me), and you should go check out their story.
Why are you still here? I mean, I appreciate it, but why aren't you at their account??? Go, check it out! >~<
