Chapter 7: The Punishment

Before: I seethed, and it took a lot of willpower not to shout out loud. How could the Hunters do such terrible thing to Percy? My poor son.

Another surge of anger flows through me, and I clench my fists and try not to make any rash decisions.

The Hunters will be punished for what they've done.

Now:

Artemis's P.O.V.

Oh no. Poseidon looks pissed. Of course he does! A part of me snaps. He has the right to be mad after I just told him that his son went missing!

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Zeus looking at me, and then following my gaze to Poseidon. He looks almost nervous when he sees his brother's angry expression.

Oh, no, no, no... What am I going to do? How will I explain what happened to Percy? I rub my face with my hands and sigh quietly... And then I noticed that Zeus was staring at me with a scowl on his face - which I'd been to busy thinking to notice before.

I swallow nervously and say, "Yes?"

He shakes his head, looking exasperated and says, "We were just discussing your - and your Hunter's - punishments."

My eyes widen as I stutter, "P-punishments?"

He nods grimly and says, "Did you think that you would get off that easily?"

I had actually been thinking that, but of course I don't say that out loud. Instead, I say, "I - of course not. So what is our punishment?"

"Artemis and her Hunters must be disbanded." Poseidon doesn't even bother answering me. Instead, he looks at Zeus as he says this.

"What?!" The word flies out of my mouth, and I immediately regret it.

Zeus merely raises his eyebrows and asks, "Is there a problem?"

"I - I - but-" I stutter.

"No buts. My word is law, remember?"

Well, the law is stupid, then, I think bitterly. However, I have enough sense not to say that aloud.

"But how could you disband us just like that? Couldn't you at least give us a chance?" I ask desperately.

"Well, it's up to my brother..." says Zeus.

"Honestly, I wouldn't, but I know Percy would like me to give you a chance because he's a good person... So I will make a bargain. If you find him within a week, you will no longer have to be disbanded. However, if you fail this task..." and Poseidon leaves it hanging.

"Thank you so much, Poseidon..."

He ignores me, and instead stands up and says, "Well, if we have nothing else to discuss, I shall take my leave." Then, without a dismissal, he strides out and disappears.

Father looks at me and says, "Well, you'd better get started."

Time Skip - 30 minutes later

Artemis's P.O.V.

I tell my Hunters about our mission, but Phoebe simply scowls and looks away.

"Is something wrong with the orders I gave you?" I ask.

"No, Lady Artemis," She says in a monotonous way.

I frown, feeling worried.

Phoebe's P.O.V.

Ugh. Why do we have to look for that annoying b*st*rd? If only he had been more considerate and not acted like a brat, none of this would have happened. I think, hatred lacing my every thought.

Thalia's P.O.V.

I notice Phoebe's sour expression and curt tone, and I feel a bit worried. Maybe I had been wrong to trust Phoebe that quickly... Had she been lying just to get Percy in trouble? Well, the damage is done... I might as well try to make up for my mistake, I think.

Percy's P.O.V.

I feel numb on the inside, and I can't forget what Thalia had said: "I hate you! I f*cking hate you! I understand why Annabeth dumped you! Get out of here! I never want to see your face again!"

So Thalia understood why Annabeth had dumped him? Well, I didn't, and just thinking about it hurt.

She had cheated on me after confessing her love to him... I was confused. What had I done wrong??? What had I done to deserve this kind of treatment?

Surely Artemis believed me. Right? I had made the oath... yet a small part of me thought, Haha! You think she would believe you??? And why would she believe you over her precious Hunters? They are clearly more trustworthy, right? Ha!

I put my head into my hands and tried not to think about anything.

Well, I finally got around to finishing another chapter... I know you must hate me a lot, and I'm sorry. Seriously, I am.

I hope you can show me some support by commenting some ideas for the story, because I'm brainstorming. I have some ideas, but I'm still not 100% sure yet.
