minghao didn't really have any friends at his school, he preferred to wear bright colors the same shade as school highlighters which caused others to make fun of him since it was so easy. he never defended myself, just nodded at their harsh words and winced whenever they were about to push him.

but bright colors made him happy and he loved being happy.

today wasn't any different. he was sitting at the back of the playground near the sand playing with his new doll junhui, the color yellow emitting from his shirt making him stand out against all the green trees around him.

his mother had tried to stop him from bringing jun but he begged and even cried a little so that he could bring his new favorite toy. in the end his mom just sighed giving up completely.

minghao was just casually playing with junhui, when he saw the crowd of boys walking towards him. but he remained calm, like he always did, when he knew he was about to get bullied.

"ha why are you playing with a doll, you're a boy. boys don't play with dolls idiot," doyoon, the leader of their, group spit at him. everyone behind him laughing.

"who says i can't?" minghao looked at them with his big brown eyes, tilting his head a little.

everyone looked at each other because in reality there was no law that said boys couldn't play with dolls. it was society but they were too little to explain the concept with their limited vocabulary.

"you just can't," he yelled when he knew he didn't have a good reason, kicking some dirt towards the boy on the floor. but he simply wiped it off of himself but his heart dropped when he saw junhui's clothes got dirty.

minghao's lip started to quiver at the sight of stain of the doll's shirt but thankfully before he could start crying in front of them. one of the teachers noticed the event taking place and told the group to get away from minghao, which they obeyed so that they wouldn't get any phone calls to their parents.

half of the boys stuck their tongues out at him before walking away but minghao was too focused on rubbing the stain out of junhui's blue shirt.

"at least you showed up to my party not like them," he whispered, "talking" to junhui. he didnt really mind that the boys made fun of him for having a doll, it made him happy actually knowing that they wouldn't ask to play with it. giving him maximum time with junhui. and he got over the stain fast since his mom would wash it out as soon as he got home.
