Escaping The Apocalypse

Zombie Land

     After the separate groups all settled in after their conversations the group spreading out took seats in the living room.
" So where are we heading off next? I mean i don't want to stay in this house forever " Autumn spoke.
" we can get on the road and drive? See where the road takes us" Bernón suggested.
" i need to leave this house or i might just go crazy" Blue laughed.
" So, what does that mean for me? " Sebastian asked.
" You can join us, if you want." Kai mentioned.
Everyone seemed to agree to the idea of driving until they stumbled upon another place to call their temporary home. Meanwhile they began to pack what little they had. After, they made their way into the car squishing in Sebastian, as the new member of their team. While driving they couldn't help but look out the window and see how broken their world had become. Abandon buildings went by as they drove, most couldn't help but feel uneasy about the fact that they never knew what was in store. Most brushed it off, most ignored their shaky thoughts and most faced each day with closed arms.
" Alright guys be in the lookout for well ...anything" Bernón reminded the group as they were on the road implying they should keep watch for their next adventure. Through the car there were different conversations about where they were heading off too next. As the sun began to wave goodbye and the moon waved hello, they looked for anything that looked merely welcoming.
" so what are we looking for?" Kai asked.
" anything, we don't have much options" Rin mentioned.
" what are you looking for Serefina?" He asked her.
" i don't really know, i don't have high expectations just anywhere that doesn't have zombies " she giggles causing her eyes to squint in laughter.
Meanwhile while Blue leaned on Raiden's shoulder she noticed figures in the distance that whispered her name.
" hey Raiden what is that?" She asked pointing to machinery in the distance.
" thats a carnival " he replied.
" whats that?"
" wait, you've never been to a carnival?"
" no"
" Bernón we have to go to that carnival! Blue's never been to one" Raiden said yelling at Bernón.
Everyone filled with excitement as they craved to do something fun, their tummies bursting with butterflies.
" That looks like fun we have to go!" Dust spoke excited looking over to Bernòn in hopes of approval.
" i guess here we come carnival " he smirked as he drove closer to the amusement park causing cheer and laughter to explode out of the car.
Stepping out of the car they came into contact the amusement park hugged by darkness, unable to see they all searched for a source that would turn the lights on.
" guys i think i found it!" Kai yelled calling the group over.
" lets turn this baby on and have some fun" Bernón said putting his arm arm around Dusts waist.
Pulling the lever the once dark area slowly converted to an area of color and lights.
They all stood in awe realizing they needed a break from the madness.
" alright! Okay sorry boys but us girls need our gal time" Serefina giggled pulling the girls towards the carnival games, leaving the guys behind with the rides.
Separating into two groups the girls quickly bursted into talk about their new team members and friends.
" okay where do we start! Oh i know! Rin! you and Haru!" Dust exclaimed!
" Me! What about Serefina and Kai or you and Bernón and dont get me started on Blue!" Rin argued.
" me? What about me? If anything why not Autumn and the new guy" Blue giggled.
" What!!"
" The new guy!" The girls yelled in surprise.
" okay Autumn you go first"
" what! Nothing happened! I just tried to talk to him but he wouldn't talk to me so instead he kissed me" Autumn replied bluntly as if it was nothing.
" He kissed you!!" The girls screamed again.
" okay Serefina now you"
" oh well Kai's nice and sweet and we've been taking " she started.
" oh come on ginger, spill your guts!" Dust said trying to dig information out of her red hair friend.
" okay, okay! Uhh well we almost kissed" She said softly.
" But the first time we were interrupted and the second time.. well i dont know i just couldn't."
" why not?" Dust questioned.
" i don't know i feel like we hardly know each other" she said confused.
" cut the crap Sere" Dust interrupted.
" okay! I like him! I do but we are in a apocalypse! He can die at any moment, and i don't want to lose him" Serefina said honestly.
" sweetheart, you can lose him, but why not enjoy the time you have with him now! He likes you! Why not take advantage of that and be with him." Autumn said trying to convince her. Leaving Serefina confused they decided to move on the the next gal.
" now Rin! Tell us all! How do you know Haru?"
" there isn't much to tell. Me and him had a rough past and we moved past it." Rin said bluntly trying to move past her turn to share.
" yeah we know that but he likes you luv, make your move" Blue suggested.
" it's not that easy you now. We just became friends. I don't want to get hurt again" Rin mumbled.
" Getting hurt might be a chance you're going to have to take."
" Now Dust!" The girls said moving on.
" Honestly I'm just as confused as you guys, I thought he liked me but then when I wanted him to kiss me he didn't. Maybe he just doesn't want a relationship." Dust spoke annoyed.
" talk to him, maybe he does he's probably just scared"
" And lastly Blue"
" what about me?" She asked honestly.
" well you and Raiden have been spending a lot of time together" Rin reminded her.
" yes, he's sweet " she said smiling.
" okay love lets just go back with the guys" they realized that she was oblivious to her feelings and maybe he was too.
They headed over to the guys seeing them laugh made them realize they needed this vacation.
" alright boys we had our girl time, now lets go on rides!" Dust laughed dragging Bernón to the nearest ride as the rest split off to different areas.
Dust dragging off Bernón they made their way towards the river rapid.
" where are we going Babe" Bernón questioned.
" a water ride now hurry up" she said pulling his hand.
Sitting in the ride they buckled up having to wait no line. Going down the ride resulted in them being drenched in water, causing them to instantly feel the breeze of the night.
" that was amazing but I instantly regret that! " Dust laughed while shivering.
" thats what I'm here for" he replied taking his jacket off and allowing her to wear it.
" thanks Bernón that's sweet" she responded while they walked sitting on a bench.
" we needed this. We deserve to have some fun." she mentioned moving over to face him.
" of course, battling zombies is tuff" he replied chuckling. He moved into her using his hand to move her hair from her face.
" why didn't you kiss me " she asked bluntly. He was caught buy her sudden urgency to know.
" why do you want me to kiss you so bad?" He winked ignoring the question. She quickly punched him in the shoulder softly.
" seriously Bernón. Why don't you want to kiss me? Am I getting the wrong idea?"
" no. I mean i do want to kiss you" he replied honestly.
" i just think we shouldn't yet" he continued.
" i mean we've known each other for such little time and.."
" and what else?" She asked
" i don't  want to hurt you. " Bernón said cutting Dust's thoughts.
" i don't think you would ever hurt me on purpose" she told him honestly, she was surprised to learn that the confident Bernón was fearful of hurting her.
" give us some time to trust each other" he suggested.
" okay" she said,  then slowly leaned into his shoulder before wrapping her fingers with his.
Meanwhile Kai and Serefina went straight into the ferris wheel.
" its so beautiful from up here" she stared in awe.
" its crazy ain't it, how destroyed this world is getting yet we still find beauty within it " he spoke looking into her eyes.
" I've always loved carnivals my parents used to take me to them every time they came" he shared.
"I've only been once. With my parents before my father disappeared" she also shared.
" I'm sorry"
" no don't thats ancient news" she smiled.
"I've been told i have to live in the present"
She smiled. As if without thought she leaned into Kai before rapping her arms around his neck landing a kiss. He quickly kissed her back, holding her check. Her heartbeat sped up faster than any zombie could. Breaking away from the short yet stomach turning kiss, she giggled and as he couldn't help but blush.
" i love the present" he laughed.
" me too" she smirked.
Meanwhile Autumn had dragged Sebastian to the carousel in hopes of sparking a conversation.
" you know i still don't trust you" she told him bluntly.
" i don't expect you to, and if I'm honest i don't know if i trust you either" he smirked playing her game.
" oh really? Cause I'm hiding something right?" She questioned sarcastically.
" maybe you are. Im trying to figure it out" he said confidently.
" give it up! You just dont want to release any information about yourself" she exclaimed.
" why do you care so much?" He questioned.
" i dont care!" She said annoyed yet she knew she did care.
They sat on one of the horses next to each other not wanting each other out of their sights.
" did you like our kiss?" He smirks.
" did you like my punch?"
" can i kiss you again?"
" do so and this time ill make sure I dislocate your jaw pretty boy" Autumn said rolling her eyes.
" oh so you think I'm pretty?" He winked.
" ugghhh give it up!"
While they spent their night not revealing their precious information to each other Rin and Haru made their way to a roller coaster.
" I didn't think you were a carnival type of girl" he said.
" well i do, i love them. Come on let's sit in the front!"
They made their ways to their seats, Rin was prepared to see if Haru would scream.
As the coaster went through a dark tunnel she felt Haru hold her hand. Going up he looked at her and laughed.
" this is going to be fun!" He chuckled.
Going down she felt her stomach turn and his felt like it did flips. They screamed not of fear but of excitement, both finally felt a rush they longed for.
Stepping off the ride Rin couldn't hell but laugh genuinely.
" that was amazing!"she spoke honestly.
" wow ! A smiley Rin! Isn't that beautiful" he said causing her to blush.
" what can i say, I enjoy rides"
Walking off they went straight towards the games.
" hey look no line!" He teased.
" lets play! First person who pops 5 balloons wins!" Haru challenged.
" oh you're on!"
Aiming at the targets Rin knew she was good before Haru saw it coming she had one.
" yay!" She laughed.
He leaned into the booth grabbing a teddy bear that seemed in the best condition it could be.
" congratulations! You won" he said hugging her tight. She hugged him back before intwining her hand with his.
" You never had a chance " she teased.
" Hey! A guy can dream!" he said causing her to laugh.
Meanwhile Blue and Raiden darted for the pirate ship.
" haha!" She laughed as her stomach filled with weird feelings as the ride went up. She shot her hads in the air with Raiden. As the ride came to an end she stepped off feeling the rides effect on her.
" oh my god I'm so dizzy" she laughed as she rested her head on his shoulder.
" i cant believe this is your first time here! " he said surprised.
" well you know with my parents and all"
" oh yeah, sorry to bring that up"
" dont worry about that! Im just glad to be able to go to one now" she replied honestly.
" come on lets go to the fun house" he said intwining his hand with hers and taking her towards the attraction.
As they entered they had to go through mirrors to get to the other side.
" you go first, but be careful don't hit your face on a mirror"
Making it past the mirrors they couldn't contain their laughter. The room was filled with different lights making the room seem brighter.
" i hope this is the best experience you have with carnivals" he laughed.
" can it get any better than this?" She asked honestly.
" there could be carnival food so maybe" he joked.
" hahha, i think anywhere with you is a great experience" she told him honestly.
" oh really? I guess i can say I'm flattered" he said smirking.
She looked at his freckled covered face and two different colored eyes and felt at home.
" yes, i like being with you freckles " she smiled as she felt her body lean into him almost as if it was an instinct while looking at his lips. She pulled her arms over his shoulders and around his neck as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
They both seemed as if they wanted to be closer yet neither of them made the first move. They both were confused on what came next as if something held them from proceeding.
Before either of then could make a move they retrieved and laughed.
" i like spending time with you too Blue" Raiden smiled pinching her cheek.
After hours of fun they all met up to turn of the lights they all stood together looking at the carnival that gave them a chance at happiness, they then waved goodbye and stepped into their car, driving off.
