Chapter 3

Alyssa POV

As we were in the car to get there, August kept looking at me.

"What are you looking at?"

"You just mad beautiful ma."

"Thank you but I have a boyfriend August."

"Ok I never said I was gonna get with you I'm just giving you a compliment. That's it."

"Aight August damn."

"Now what's the attitude for?"

"Nun just keep on driving that's all."

That's when this dumbass nigga drives over and looks at me.

"August we have somewhere to go."

"And that somewhere can wait."

"My mother's life can't wait either."

August starts to lean in. I mushed his face away because I have Lucas and I don't want what happened mess up Lucas and I relationship.

August what is wrong with you?" I said fixing my seatbelt.

"You know you want all of this."

"No I don't, so can you please start driving before something happens."

"What the fuck ever man." He put on his seatbelt back on and started driving real fast down the street.

*10 minutes later*

We finally got to the restaurant. August opened the door and then opened mines. We held hands and I looked at him and smiled.

August POV

As I held Alyssa's hand, I felt something that I never felt before. Like her hands were meant to touch mines.

As we walked in I pulled Alyssa closer to me to make it seem like we are together.

She looked up at me and smiled. The person at the front desk walked us to the table. There was a woman and a man.

"Well hello, wouldn't you be Alyssa and this young man would be August?" The lady stood up and shook our hand.

"Yes we are. Who are you?" I asked without any disrespect.

"I am Patricia Levermen and this John Banks. We are here to talk some business."

"Ok so let's get down to it." Alyssa said sitting down.

As Ms. Levermen was about to talk the waiter came and asked us what we wanted to drink.

"I would just have water please." I said looking at Alyssa to see what she wanted.

"I'll take the same thing too." She said looking worried. As the other two order their drinks.

"Ok I will be back with your water and ice teas." The waiter said walking away.

Alyssa POV

As the waiter was writing down the orders, something felt off about him. Just things wasn't right.

"Excuse me." I said getting up to go to the bathroom.

I heard August telling them that he'll be right back.

"Hey what's wrong?"

"August I think we are being set up." I said lowly looking around.

"Why you say that?"

"The waiter, the people at the table. It's just doesn't feel right. I wanna leave out of here." I said on the verge of crying.

"It's gon be okay. I got you and if anything happens I'll be here to protect you." He said rubbing my back.

"Okay." I said as August wiped my teas without messing up my makeup.

"Everything's gon be ok baby girl. Here but hide this."

He gave me a pocket knife. It is pink with diamonds on it.

"August-(gco)

"Alyssa it's for protection, aight. Just take it without any questions."

I took a deep breathe and held August had tightly and then I kissed his cheek.

"What's that for?"

"Just for being here with me through all this and I love you for that."

"I love you too baby girl."

We walked back and right on time the whiter came back with our water.

"Is everything okay?" Ms. Levermen asked.

"Yeah." I said smiling at August.

"So are you together and if so how long?" Mr. Banks asked taking a sip of his ice tea.

"Yes we are together and we have been together for a year." August said squeezing my hand proudly looking at my me and then kissed my cheek.

"Aww, that is so cute. When did y'all meet?" Ms. Levermen asked.

"We have met each other during freshman year actually. I said kissing August hand that was connected with me.

"I knew y'all had to be high school lovebirds." Ms. Levermen cooed.

"Yeah. How long have ya'll even together?"

"Uh..ummm.....we been together for 6-(gco) 8 years." Mr. Banks cut Ms. Levermen off.

Something smelled real fishy with those two.

"Let's drink up!" They both said at the same time.

I drank some of my water and for some reason my head instantly started hurting. Then everything started to looking funny.

"Are you okay?" August asked looking at me.

Yeah I'm fine." I said with a half smile.

I felt my phone buzz. I looked at it and I got a text message. I tapped on it and it said, "You shouldn't have took a big gulp of your "water" hope you okay because after this...THINGS CAN GO THE WRONG WAY. 

I looked around and then I started to feel sick to my stomach. "August I think we should go. I'm not feeling so well."

"Aight." He said getting up and helping me up.

"Do yall have to go so quick? We haven't had dessert yet." Ms. Levermen said.

They both started standing up and I seen Mr. Banks take something from his back. August jumped and we both landed on the floor. All i heard was shot guns. August got up and started shooting too. I didn't know what to do, so I just panicked and I took out the pocket knife and I stabbed that stank ass bitch.

I always knew there was something wrong with them and everything else. I took her gun and started shooting people that were coming at August and I. I seen the waiter that order our things. We end up making eye contact and that's when he started running out into the back. I took my heels off and started sprinting after him. 

I seen him run through the back door. I ran and trying to all cool and shit like the movies. The door was all slippery and shit. I finally got the door opened and I didn't see him, but as I stop to catch my breathe I see 3 people dressed in all black. Instead of trying to figure out who they are my bitch ass wasn't taking no chances of getting taken again so I ran back inside. Luckily the door wasn't locked, but when I went back inside I didn't see August no where.
