Pacifica's POV

"No."

"Pacifica, please don't be difficult," Ford complained.

"No deal!" I yelled. "Their is no way you can make me spend less time with Dipper!"

"It's only for your safety," he added.

"I don't care."

"Mabel agreed," he kept trying to convince me to stay away from Dipper.

"Yeah! Well, I'm not Mabel." I was not gonna give in.

"It's for Dipper's safety too," he finally said. This caught my interest.

"How would staying away from Dipper help him?" I asked Ford.

"He needs time to think and get his thoughts straight. Also, if he hurts you while he has a panic attack, he could hurt himself," Ford explained.

"Huh?" I was so confused. Ford took notice of this.

"He loves you. If he hurt you, he wouldn't be able to live with himself. He could cause himself mental and/or physical pain."

I stared at Ford and thought about this. Maybe it is a good idea to keep my distance.

"I-I'll think about it," i nodded.

"Great!" Ford exclaimed, "Now, move along."

"Wait!" I yelled as he pushed me upstairs, "But Mabel and I want to help."

"Pacifica, leave this to the grownups. We wouldn't want to see you or Mabel get hurt," he finished.

"But-" I was cut off by Ford slamming the basement door in my face. "Ugh!" I let out a frustrated sigh.

I walked into the living room to see Dipper, Stan, and Mabel talking about something while watching TV. Dipper seemed fine right now. I wonder what really happened. I don't think she was telling the truth when she said she and Dipper were ' just talking.'

"Mabel," I called. "Can I have a word with you?"

"Yeah," she responded. We walked upstairs and into our room. "What's up?"

"Where's Dipper's journal?" I asked, getting straight to the point.

"Probably under his bed," she answered, "Why?"

"Because we need to find a way to fix him. Or, we need to find out why he's acting this way," I stated.

"Fix him? B-but we don't even know what's wrong," she began.

"C'mon, Mabel. Do you really think I'm that stupid? I know Dipper told you something, but you won't tell me!" I yelled. She flinched at my harsh tone. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell."

"It's okay. And, I wanna tell you, Pacifica, but I can't," Mabel confessed.

"Why can't you?" I asked.

"Because I promised Dipper I wouldn't."

"But, nobody has to know that I know," I pointed out. I'll admit it, I was a little upset that Dipper told Mabel this and not me.

"If Dipper told you instead of me, you would keep the secret. I just don't want to risk losing his trust!" She cried. "I've already lost enough of Dipper!"

"Okay! You don't have to tell me. I didn't mean to upset you. I'm sorry," I apologized. "I just really love Dipper and I want him to be okay."

"It's okay...I just want my brother back."

"Me too." Their was a silence between us, until Mabel reached her arm under Dipper's bed and grabbed the journal.

"You wanted this?" She asked while handing it to me.

"Yeah, come here." She scooted over and sat next to me. I flipped through some pages until I found what I was looking for.

"The Insanis Flower," Mabel read.

"It says here that, when ingested, the flower can cause insanity in a series of different ways," I continued. We looked at each other and had the same idea.

We were setting off to look for this in the morning. It could give us a lead on what's wrong with Dipper. He would do the same thing for us, right?

~~~
Mabel and I were already deep in the forest by noon. It's a good thing Ford told us to stay away from Dipper, and not to spend more time with him. We were planning on being gone all day.
But, he did warn us not to help. Well, too bad. Of course we're gonna help. Dipper's my boyfriend and I'm not just gonna sit around and do nothing to help him.
"I think this is where it's supposed to be," Mabel said while looking down at the book.
We both looked around but only saw normal elements of the forest. Nothing that had to do with a weird flower.
"Where is it then?" I asked impatiently.
"Not sure. Maybe it's over h-" Mabel was cut off by a loud rumbling noise.
"What's happening?!" I screamed while covering my ears.
"C'mon! We gotta get out of here!"
"What about the flower?" Right as I said that, something bright shone up on us. I looked down to see a beautiful flower that matched the picture in the book.
"Found it!!!" Mabel beamed. I walked closer to it and Mabel followed close behind.
"Why is it missing a pedal?" I asked, but I think I already know the answer. One pedal is strong enough to make a person go completely crazy.
"How would Dipper have ingested it?" Mabel asked.
"Someone must've given it to him," I pondered this.
"Yeah, but who is crazy enough to do such a mean and risky thing like that?" Questioned Mabel.
And that's when it clicked.
"It must've been Candy!" I assumed. "That's why she wanted the journal!"
"But, she said that the journal was for Bill..." Mabel trailed of. "You don't think..."
"It has to be!" I exclaimed. "Candy wanted to give the journal to Bill, so he would make Dipper fall in love with her. But, before we got the book back, she must've already told Bill about that flower."
"Then, he somehow got Dipper to ingest the flower, and broke his deal with Candy!" Mabel finished.
"It's all starting to make sense now."
Okay, thank you guys so much for 500 reads!!! I was so excited to see that. So, is everything starting to make sense now and why Dipper is "sick?" I was trying not to four shadow too much. Anyway, thanks again, and remember to leave comments!
