Pacifica's POV

Mabel and I decided to confront Candy about Dipper. We were slowly starting to piece together the puzzle about everything that happened to Dipper.

But, a little part of me was saying not to go to Candy. Probably because Dipper and I just got into a fight about how I'm putting myself into danger. I really don't want him to be mad at me. He and I have been very distant lately and I don't know why. It's not because of his sickness, or whatever. I...I don't know how to put it into words.

"Did you hear anything I just said?" Asked an annoyed, yet peppy, voice.

"Hm? What? I'm sorry, Mabel. I've just been really distracted lately," I admitted.

"Well, don't be!" She yelled. "We need to stay focused if we are gonna help Dipper."

"I just have bad feeling about the whole going-up-to-Candy thing."

"We need to do this for Dipper. No matter how dangerous it is because you know he would risk anything and everything for us. Now, are you in or are you out?" Mabel asked.

"I..." This was it. My only chance to bail on this mission and spend more time with Dipper. Help him by not helping him. "I'm in." What did I just agree to?!

"Good. C'mon, if we want to get anything done before sundown, we'd better start now," Mabel stated.

We walked to Candy's house, knocked on the door, and patiently waited. How is Mabel so calm right now? Her best friend completely turned on her and is now a psycho. And on top of that, the psycho is in love with her twin brother who is going through some strange mental issue right now. Candy is even the one who caused it! I wish I had as much confidence as Mabel.

After a minute or two, someone opened the door. It was Candy. She looked at the two of us and had a devious smirk plastered across her face.

"I suppose you two are here for some answers, right?" Candy questioned. Neither one of us answered, instead we just gave her the deadliest glare we could. "Okay, okay. We can talk about this inside." We still didn't move. "Wow, being stubborn? Fine, we'll talk out here."

She walked outside and sat in a chair on her porch. She looked at us, and I looked at Mabel. She never broke eye contact with Candy. She held her ground and finally spoke up.

"Why did you do it?" Mabel asked in a sad voice.

"Do what?" Candy questioned innocently.

"You know exactly what she means, Candy!" I cut in.

"No, please enlighten me." She smiled.

"Why did you give Dipper the Insanis Flower?" Mabel was starting to cry now.

"Dipper was so innocent. It's me you hate, so why didn't you give it to me?" I pointed out.

"I was punishing you by punishing Dipper. You see, I know how much you love each other. You would do anything to protect each other. I figured out that hurting you wasn't your breaking point, but hurting him was." Candy explained with a sinister smile.

"I'll show you a breaking point!" Cried Mabel as she leaped towards Candy. I grabbed her before she could reach her, though.

"We can't just attack her, Mabel!" I sighed. "Listen, Candy, just tell us how to fix Dipper and I'll let you do whatever you want to me. Torture me, or whatever it is you do."

"That sounds like a great deal but...I don't know how to fix Dipper," Candy confessed.

"WHAT?!" Mabel and I yelled at the same time.

"T-that's a lie! You're just saying that!" Mabel accused, sounding slightly unsure of herself.

"Yeah," I added, "You gave Dipper the flower, so you should know about how it works."

"I never said I gave him the flower," Candy slowly said, with that smirk that still has yet to leave her sick face.

"What are you playing at?" I asked.

"Well, I better get going. It's getting late and I still want to pay Dipper a quick visit," Candy said, ignoring my question.

"You leave him alone!" I commanded.

"Why would I listen to you?"

"Because Mabel and I will turn you in. You'll go to jail," I smirked.

"I'm not scared of you, Pacifica," Candy spat, "I just want to see Dipper and have a quick chat with him. Then, I'll be out of your hair."

"I said, leave him alone!"

"Yeah, and we know you gave him that flower," Mabel added. "No matter what you tell us."

"What proof do you have, huh?" Asked Candy. "Because it seems to me that you don't have any. Am I right?" We stayed silent. "That's what I thought. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go pay a visit to my Little Dipper."

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" I screamed once more, each time raising my voice louder and louder. But, Candy's smirk just grew bigger.

"This is exactly what I'm talking about. Why would the police believe two problematic teenagers that don't even know how to control their anger?" She snickered. "Why would Dipper ever want to date someone like you?"

Before Mabel or I could say another word to protest, she ran out of our sight and into the forest.

"C'mon!" Mabel called. "We gotta get to Dipper before she does." I nodded in agreement and ran next to Mabel, towards the Mystery Shack.

"Dipper?" I called out when we got to the Shack.

"Dip, are you here?" Mabel asked, behind me. "Grunkle Stan, do you know where Dipper is?"

"No, kid, I haven't seen him since earlier today," answered a gruff voice. "Is he okay?"

"Yeah," Mabel said, not wanting to worry anyone. "I think I just heard him upstairs." She grabbed my hand and bolted to the attic. He wasn't in there either. We searched the forest all night, but there was no sign of Dipper anywhere.

We even went to Candy's house and looked there, but he wasn't there. So, we finally started to go back home when it became too dark to look anymore.

I couldn't stay strong anymore, and I began to cry. I sat down, next to a tree, and let it all out. Mabel came up to me and tried to comfort me.

"I know you're worried, I am too, but we are going to find him," she stated, letting a tear slip from her eye too.

"It's not just that. I mean, I feel like Dipper and I are slowly drifting farther apart. We're dating and we should be there for each other, but we haven't been. Maybe Candy was right, why would he want to date someone like me?" I cried.

"Hey!" Mabel slapped me, "Dipper loves you because you're beautiful, smart, confident, and so much more! That psychotic freak doesn't know what she's talking about if she doesn't think you're any of those things."

I sniffed. "You really think so?"

"I know so. Now, quit your crying and go get your man!!!" Mabel shrieked. I giggled at her silliness. She gave me a hand and helped me up.

"Thanks, Mabel."

"No problem. And I promise you that we'll find Dipper. No matter what."

We got back to the Shack and went straight to bed. Though, I couldn't fall asleep knowing Dipper was in danger. And I knew that wherever Dipper was right now, he was awake too. I could just...feel it. Almost as if he he was so close, but so far at the same time.

I wonder if he's thinking the same thing right now?

That thought was enough comfort to put me asleep for the night. Knowing Dipper was thinking about me was enough to get me to do anything. It was enough hope.
