Darcy’s POV:
I understand that I only just move here and I need to be good friends with the jocks if I don’t want to be bullied again but there is something special about this girl. All I want to do is be able to call her mine and hug her and kiss her. Oh god, what has this girl done to me? Every since I moved to this city all I want to do is to become popular and get Abbey to be my girlfriend but I know that this will only distract me from the important things in life, good grades.
I need to become focused again. Girls and being popular aren’t important to me, good grades are. I convinced myself this for a little while but then when I saw her the next day, she was wearing an ordinary jumper with ordinary jeans but for a quick second I saw her jumper come up her arm and I think I saw cuts. I must be imagining because a) I all of a sudden care about popularity, b) I want to make Abbey my girlfriend and c) I thought I saw cuts up her arms but she wouldn’t do that, she’s too smart for that.
I start with the jocks during class today, as I just need time away from Abbey before I go asking her about what I thought I saw. Mitch smiled when he saw I was going to join them for lunch. They were talking about some party on the weekend and invited me to come. I don’t know whether I can, as there is only one girl for me. Oh god, what am I thinking? I quickly agreed and I hope that I can get over this need for Abbey.
Cory offered me a ride and I accepted and then they all asked me a question that I wasn’t ready to answer, they asked me, “So Darcy, which girl do you want to bang?” I started having a mini heart attack. I said, “I-I, um t-there isn’t really anyone.” The guys laughed at this and said, “Now really who is it? I bet they are really hot.” I lied and said, “Olivia.” Olivia was this girl from my chemistry class and she was what the jocks would call, hot. They all started patting me on the back and I took that as a good sign.
I talked to my parents about this party and the only reason mum agreed was because dad convinced her but dad was doing this because of a deal we made. After I talked to them, I went and changed into my training gear for a session of footy with my dad. This was my first training so we worked on catch, kicking and handballing a ball. Dad said that I was a natural but I don’t think I believe him. After working on those skills he said that I had to do five laps around the oval to finish up. I have always been pretty good at running and it’s why every teacher wanted me to join their sport but I’d rather stick to studies.
I had a hot shower when I got home; I walked out with just a towel around my waist when mum said that a girl called Olivia was here to visit me. I swallowed hard and yelled, “Just give me a minute I need to put some clothes on and then I’ll be right out.” I got changed and went out.
“Hey Olivia.”
“Hey Darcy.”
“So, why did you come to visit?”
“Um, you invited me, remember?”
“Ahh, no I didn’t.”
“Yes you did.”
“Give me a second, I need to give someone a quick call.”
I rang Mitch,
“Yo Darc, what’s up?”
“Did you invite Olivia over to my house?”
“Nope, but someone did.” I heard him laugh.
“If it wasn’t you, then who was it?”
“Well someone called Alexis decided to send a text to Olivia saying it was from you and to come over to your house.”
“You f**k heads. Why would you do that?”
“To give you two some private time.”
“Well I’ll have time for that at the party.” I hung up without saying good bye and I am so p***ed off with them at the moment.
I went back to talk to Olivia, “Hey Olivia, I didn’t send that text, that was Alexis pretending to be me.”
“Oh ok, I guess I’ll see you in chemistry then.”
“Yeah you will, cya.”
I rang Alexis up, “You absolute f**khead. Why would you text Olivia to come to my house?”
“I did it because I thought that you needed a little help with Olivia. Also, you are welcome.”
“Argh just let it go dude. I’ll be fine!”
“No offence dude, but you don’t seem to be the type that can get all of the ladies.”
“Oh don’t you worry as I have more experience than you think.” I hung up on him. I can’t believe he did that!
I sent Olivia text as I felt bad for being so harsh to her before but I am just so annoyed at Alexis.
Darcy: Hey Olivia, I’m sorry if I was a bit rude earlier I’m just annoyed at Alexis.
Olivia: It’s ok, why did he do it any way?
Darcy: He just thinks I need help with getting a girlfriend.
Olivia: Oh ok, well cya tomorrow.
Darcy: Yeah cya J.
I went to bed after that, as I was tired from all of the events of today. The worst thing is I think I’m getting feelings for Olivia now but I still like Abbey, which makes everything so confusing.
