Things that bother me in Fullmetal Fanfiction

#1 Al's design

Ok so this doesn't so much have to do with his design in the show as it does his design in the fan fictions. If you don't understand what I mean by that let me explain.

So if you know the show as well as I do then you know that Al is a soul bonded to a suit of armor. That's fine I have no problem with that what I DO have a problem with is when people are writing fanfics and they don't bother to tell which Al they are using. If that doesn't make sense let me explain some more. 

Al has two versions of his human body. From the original ( 2003) anime and Brotherhood (2009). The big debate for the 2003 anime was that Ed and Al weren't brothers because they didn't look alike (( that's a whole rant I'll get to later)) Al had brown/hazel hair and grey eyes while Ed of course had the characteristic Golden hair and Golden eyes. Apparently this pissed people off for some reason and they changed Als design in brotherhood (( I don't know if that's actually correct but I do know a lot of people hated Als design in the original anime))

Als design in brotherhood changed to look like Ed I.e golden hair and golden eyes but the character stayed the same for the most part ( with the exception of voice actor changes for the dub)

Now your probably wondering why this bothers me. Well the reason is simple: NO ONE FUCKING STATES WHAT AL DESIGN THEY ARE USING!!!!!! especially with fanfics that involve Alfons and Al. I don't want to assume I want to know people! Am I being a hypocrite? More than likely yes. Should I state what Al design in using when writing? Yes! I don't want to have to assume your using the original Al and then find out he had fucking golden hair and eyes. Don't do that shit to me man! It's. not. Cool.

Summary of this rant: Please state at the beginning of the story if you are using Original (2003) Al or Brotherhood (2009) Al
