chapter 1
"mum! it's 7:45! we need to leave as i need to find my way around school!" she's always late. i guess it runs in the family. even if we leave on time or 5 minutes early, we always end up being late. Sydney is so beautiful, especially in clontarf. The beautiful housing on the water is where i've always wanted to live.

As i'm walking down the stairs, i admire the view before i need to step out into the real world, but for me, there really is no real world anymore.

"okay. remember, your name is april johnson. you moved here because your mum got a new job and needed a transfer. don't trust anyone. try not to tell anyone any personal information and don't give out any hints!" I mimic her words like i've heard this 100 times, which i basically have. Because of the incident, i can't get close to anyone anymore as it will end up hurting them. mum and i share our
final goodbyes and i head out the front, walking to my bus stop.

As i'm walking down the street, a petite grey cat snuggles around my feet. me, being the cat lover i am pats the cutie, hence the reason i'm going to be late.

"Ugh archie! get back inside. i can't keep you outside all day, you little shit." A long blonde hair boy yelled from his front door, forcing me to turn around and leave the cat. he was tan, around 5'8, had some muscle and blue eyes. his bleach blonde hair complimented his eyes, making them stand out even more. He's wearing a black t'shirt, black jeans with holes in them, black vans and a black cap. He must love color. I smile at him, he smiles ba- woah. his smile looks like it could grow flowers and cure world hunger. his perfect teeth just add to the amazing look. if looks could kill, the world would be extinct.

"Hi, i'm alex. sorry about archie, he loves humans hahaha." His laugh makes him even more perfect, im stuck for words.

"Hi i'm kenn- april! i'm april." i force a smile. wow kennedy. the first person you meet and already give a hint. you should probably just pack and leave now, before you end this perfect boy's life.

"are you catching the bus?" Alex says.

"yeah, supposed to be."

"pretty sure your ride just left." he points behind me. i turn around and see my bus leaving, my only way to school.

"shit! first day of school and i'm going to be late." clearly annoyed, frustrated and upset, i turn on my heels and start walking to school. this is going to be a long walk.

"i could give you a ride?" i hear alex say from behind be. i need a ride clearly, but if i let him get too close to me, he's going to get hurt.

"it's okay, i need the exercise anyway." i lie. not being cocky, but if anything i'm underweight.

"in 40 degree Celsius weather, i don't think a 2 hour walk is going to do any good. if so, we might as well dig up your grave now." he smiles. that smile could persuade a psychopath into saving people's lives.

I start to walk towards alex's car. the closer i get to him, the more perfect he gets. this boy is too sweet. he starts the car and the engine roars. what can i expect?
