It had been many weeks from when Jasper and Lapis first fused into Malachite. Through out the entire time when they were fused, they were battling. At first, it was about who would get control over Malachite. But later, all it became was a battle of hatred, a battle of getting revenge on the other.

Lapis summoned her water wings and flew up. Two giant water hands were growing behind her. All Jasper could do was watch this with a terrified expression. If she had a heart, it would be beating very fast right now. She was scared. Even if this was the thing she has been going through the last few weeks, it still scared her to death. And then, with a blink of an eye, Lapis Lazuli fired. Two giant water hands were heading Jasper's way.

Jasper was absolutely terrified. But then, suddenly, an idea popped up in the corner of her mind. A small, innocent idea. But it had the potential to save her from the hell of fighting. No, Lazuli wasn't the only one who kept attacking. Through the time, they both attacked and then had to take out their anger and had to take revenge on the other. But this time, the small glimpse of an idea was there for Jasper. The hands were getting closer every second. Jasper gulped, as she closed her eyes, focusing on freezing the giant hands.

"Wha-" let out Lapis, as she saw that her water hands weren't doing her biding. She looked at them. They were frozen. She looked at Jasper, who's eyes were now open, and a terrifying grin was starting to appear on her face. But this wasn't Jasper's final triumph. Her smile began to spread wider and wider, showing her snow white teeth. And then, she snapped. And so did the ice hands. They broke into thousands of little pieces, each and every one of them being sharp enough to cut through a person's skin in seconds. And Lapis Lazuli was in the middle of this all. The was in the middle of this ice cold hell.

Lapis had wrapped herself up with her water wings, hoping this would protect her from being killed by Jasper's insane attack. After all, that's what all of this was. Absolutely insane. Lapis' hair was wet, yet it was still trembling with fear. She was so, so afraid, just as she was in every moment of her life. All her life were just terrifying flashes of light and screams of helpless gems. And so, Lapis Lazuli waited, for Jasper to fire another addition to this painful experience called life. But Jasper didn't. Instead, she started talking.

"So, what are you going to do now, Lazuli? Trapped, in a fusion. Trapped, with me. Trapped, just like your whole life. Doesn't that make you feel... worthless? Every time, you could've easily just fought your way out. But you didn't, because someone as weak and pathetic as you wouldn't even think of doing so. Am I right?" she said, with a mischievous chuckle.

Lapis felt all of those words and they were stabbing her in the chest just like the ice crystals would. Jasper didn't know anything about her pain, anything about what she's been through! How could she say something like that? She did what she could in the Gem War, even though she was trapped in a mirror during most of it. She felt that tears would start streaming down her face if she didn't start focusing immediately on holding them back. So she did. And she didn't feel anything, not even the water wings wrapped around her were becoming ice.

Jasper used this moment of Lapis' distraction for an idea that she got during her speech. She turned the blue gem's water wings into ice. Lapis Lazuli was now trapped again, this time in her own weapon. She was falling to the ground, and as soon as she would hit it, the ice would break, and she'd be free. But that didn't happen. Instead, she stopped falling a few inches away from the ground. Her fall was stopped by a certain orange gem.

Jasper was now in control of the fusion. Nobody was in her way. So Malachite started swimming up, towards the surface of the sea. And she would swim as long as it would take her to get into the base of the Crystal Gems.
