Mr Irwin

Chapter 3

Kayla looked up at the clock which sat on the wall and read the time to be nearly 10 am. She was currently sat in an extremely comfortable office chair inside of her new shared office on Irwin towers.

Her new and extremely attractive boss, Ashton Irwin, had said he would be back in a minute over half an hour ago. Kayla thought that he had most likely gotten caught up in some sort of important business and was unable to return as quickly as he had hoped. She was beginning to need the restroom and with nothing better to do she decided that she would venture outside of the office in the hopes of finding a toilet.

Pushing open the large glass doors Kayla entered the corridor which they had entered from. She looked at her surroundings hoping that she wouldn't have to travel far as she knew that she would not find her way back again. Luckily, her eyes landed on the familiar toilet sign just three doors down from the office on her right. She made a mental note of where to find this room before entering so she could relieve herself.
Kayla took advantage of the large mirror and good lighting in the bathrooms, touching up her seamless makeup and fluffing out her hair. She grabbed her bag placing it back on her shoulder and beginning to exit the restrooms.
She left the toilet and before she even had time to register what was happening she felt herself hit something hard and she fell to the floor. Flustered and rather confused she looked up to find Ashton looking down at her with a worried look on his face.
"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry I wasn't looking where I was going are you okay?" He gushed.
"Yeah I'm fine don't worry about it" Kayla chuckled as Ashton extended his hand and helped her up.
"At least I found you though, I was just coming back to get you" He stated calmly having now calmed down from what had just happened. Kayla trailed behind Ashton as he walked back towards his office.
"I'm so sorry I didn't return earlier" Ashton said placing a hand on Kayla's arm once they were back in his office. "I got called into an emergency business meeting"
"It's fine Mr Irwin I promise. It gave me a chance to get used my surroundings." Kayla responded politely despite the fact she was slightly frustrated that he hadn't returned when he said he would.
"Once again Kayla please, call me Ashton." He said.
The way her name rolled off of his tongue was music to her ears. She simply nodded her head in response to what he had said.
"Anyway," Ashton said slapping his hands against his muscular thighs and standing up from his chair to put his suit jacket on ,"I think it's appropriate to get to know each other a little more, don't you? Let's go to lunch, I have nothing to do for a while."
"Oh of course Ashton that would be lovely." Kayla replied.
She was internally screaming as she was being lead out of the office to go to lunch with her extremely attractive new boss. She couldn't help but be apprehensive that there may be some awkwardness over lunch but she pushed this thought aside and decided to rely on her outgoing personality to get her through the meal.
