Chapter 5

Ryder's POV

"Call me when you get home alright?" Sav told me before entering her condo. "Yes. Now get inside, and make sure the doors and windows are lock." I said reminding her again. I was able to sneek in her condo from the sliding door---she kept it open. "Yes sir!" she mimicked a soldier then salute at me. I chuckled and kiss her forhead. "Sleep tight my love and dream of me."

I am now in the pack house specifically in my office. I still need to finish some paperworks. Sure my beta is the one in-charge of this, but this needs my approval and signature. Also he just arrived yesterday together with his mate. He is currently doing the rounds now "Alpha!" I was caught of gaurd when my beta----Jaxon----shouted at me worriedly via our mindlink. "What!?" I asked in a gritted teeth while scanning the papers.

"Rouge sightings in Northern-East. We are currently on the way there and we have already asked the other wolves on that area to take guard." he said. Northern-East? "Sh*t!" I cursed at him----it wasn't my intention but the rouges are close to the city! Heck! Close to Sav's condo! "What's wrong Alpha?" he whinned. In this moment I probably laughed, but I shouldn't this is a serious matter. His wolf is now taking over, feeling my uneasyness "Tell someone in the city to bring my car at Sav's condo. I need her safe."

Right from the moment my wolf took over, being paranoid and protective over his mate. I shifted into my black wolf, and jumped out from the window. He gracefully dodge the trees on our way. When he arrived at the city he let me took over, I changed back to my human form, and grab the boxers my wolf got earlier before shifting. I run through the city using my unhuman speed without people knowing my presence.

Savanah's POV

I quickly lay down on my bed, feeling my bones relax under the soft mattress. I was already half-asleep when I heard some noise outside my sliding door. Shoot! I forgot to check if I locked it already! Dear me, I just hope if someone tried to sneek in, he would be Ryder.

I grab my baseball bat under my bed. Closest thing I could get for defense! I slowly crept outside my room to my living room where the sliding door can be found. I peeked and scared the hell out of me. It was a dog! No! I mean a wolf! A big wolf! Enormous one! It looked at me straight in the eye. It's eyes are wonderful---hazelnut eyes----except the anger, hatred, and jealously it held. It kept on snarling at me while its paws tries to open the door.

I quickly run to my room and shut the door closed, I check my bedroom window and it is lock. I stay at one corner of my room holding the baseball bat close to me. How can a wolf reach my terrace? Heck! My condo unit is at the 27th floor!! I heard the snarling stop but that didn't keep me at ease.

I heard a multipule knock at the front door. I was hesitant to come out and see who was knocking at my door, but something was telling me it's safe. I slowly opened my bedroom door and crept outside to the front door. I caught a glimpse at the sliding door and the wolf was no longer there. I let out a sigh of relief, and I hurriedly run to the front door.

I gasped when I opened the door "Ryder!!" I yelled and hugged him. He cupped my cheeks and we are inches apart he speak up worriedly "Are you alright? Nothing happened to you right?" I nodded and hugged him again. He carried me I put my legs around his waist, my arms around his neck and buried my face on his chest. He on the other side held me tightly.

"Wait? Why are we going in!?" I asked nervously as panic starts to rise up in my chest. I tried getting off him----fidgeting and all, but he just held me tighter. "Shhh... No need to worry I'm right here. I will not let anything happen to you as long as I live. I just need to check something." he cooed me. "You want to spend the night with me at my house?" he added. I felt this place isn't safe for now so I frantically nodded at him.

"I'll pack my things up wait for me here, okay?" I said as he gently put me at my feet. I hurriedly went to my room and opened my wardrobe.

Ryder's POV

I unlocked the sliding door and went out. I sniff the whole area. It doesn't smell like a it belong to my pack, nor it's a rogue. It smelled different. It scent tells me it belongs to other pack. I can't tell which pack it belongs almost all of the packs I have visited but I haven't caught a scent like this in one of my visitation to other packs.

"Ryder what are you doing in here!? The wolf might come back!!" she yelled in shock and abdruptly pulled me back inside. I look at her with puzzeld eyes "Wolf?" I repeated. Maybe I heard it wrong, one of our laws says: All werewolves are verboten to show theirselves in wolf form to humans; all unless she/he is your mate. Showing herself or himself to a human is a great threat to our kind. The worse punishment in this law is to be exiled.

"I know I sound crazy, but that's what I saw! I swear it was enormous! A normal wolf could not be that big!" she explained while locking the door and closing the curtains. I sighed. It's confirmed a wolf just showed her/himself to a human. The elders will take actions immediately once this incident will pass to their ears. "Shhh... Lets go to my house, I know your tired." I tried to put my arm around her waist, but she just shoved it away.

"You don't believe me! You think I'm crazy don't you?" she shouted at me giving me that hurt look. My wolf howled at the back of my head wanting to take over and to comfort his mate. I grab her shoulder and hug her tightly while inhaling her scent. I felt my wolf calm down, and I look at her eyes. "Believe me Sav. I believe you, and I know what you are talking about. We need to go to my house now, cause you badly need sleep." she nodded at me and grab her bag. But before we went outside she handed me my shirt. I left some clothes in here just in case. "Wear that!" she said and turn her back at me, and started to walk to the door. "Don't want any other girls see what's mine!" I heard her whispered angrily. I chuckled mentally seeing her being jealous and possesive.

"Alpha." I am driving on my way home with Savanah when Jaxon mindlinked at me "We lost the rogues." I mentaly growled----more like my wolf did. If I hate rogues in my territory he hates them more. "Why?" I asked as calm as I can be, Sav might notice my change of mood. "They went out of our territory before we could get them." I nodded even if he can't see it.

"Jax! Catch the scent of the wolf at Savanah's condo. I have a feeling that wolf wont do any good to her. Savanah creep out, meaning that wolf tried to hurt her." I linked him after a moment of silence I gave. I could feel Jax's anger rise, when he heard about someone trying to hurt his luna. His wolf growled having a chance to take over in a moment. "Control your wolf Jax. I don't want to hear something stupid you have done in the morning." I said with an authority. Sure we are childhood buddies but I am still his Alpha. I don't want to send him to the wolf control. "I'm sorry Alpha."

"No problem bro, don't wanna send you to wolf control. Heard some awful things in there." I chuckled when I felt him tensed and nervoused "Yeah right." he said sarcastically. I blocked him and the other wolves when I heard my mate's heartbeat slow down and relaxed. My angel is asleep.
