Socrates believed that women should have the same training as men in society. This really resonated with Helena, causing her to have a great respect for him.

She was a dutiful student and tended to imitate his style of asking questions. She was one of the students completely in tears when he was made to drink hemlock.

Their relationship was fairly good, and was probably the closest thing Helena ever had to a parent.
