Kelsey

I kept tossing the words over in my mind.

'Nothing can be worse than my labor.'

What was that supposed to mean? My wolf was pacing inside of my mind. What made her pregnancy and labor so bad? I've heard some things circling throughout this 'community,' and the things I've heard put my wolf and me on edge.

A lot of stuff that I have heard were that it was a very long labor, it had many complications through it all, especially when he came out not breathing.

I knew that I needed to go and talk to Tallis about what had actually happened, though, but with Kelsey in labor, and Robert running around like a chicken with his head chopped off everything is just a bit stressed out.

My mind keeps straying back to the fact that Tallis, my mate, has been a single mother for almost two years now. How hadn't I known? How had I not known that I had met my mate and made a pup with her? Nothing like this has ever happened before, not that I have heard of at least.

I continued my walk around the makeshift camps, lost in my train of thought. I felt a smile tug at the corner of my lips at the thought of what happened about a half hour ago, Kendan put the pieces together.

Even though he was almost two, it was evident that he was bright. That much was evident. He must have seen the similarities between us, or how Tallis and I have acted around each other, or maybe it was even his inner wolf communicating with him.

Alphas get their wolves the day that they are born, they grow up with their wolf helping them through it. They also mature much quicker, wolves don't like being with anyone but their mates, physically wise, as they are very sexual creatures, they mate for life, though. You could see Kendan's wolf helping him through this whole process. His wolf recognizes my own, not only as his father now but as his Alpha.

I could feel my wolf getting antsy, he urged me to keep walking the way I was, intrigued I followed his demands curiously. I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard some shuffling and Tallis' voice murmuring to Kendan. I took a deep breath and instantly my lungs were filled with the scent that surrounded my mate.

I moved from out of the open and leaned back against a tree, I knew I was eavesdropping, but she was just so damn stubborn, this was the only way I could hear her voice, to talk to me.

"Kendan." I heard her take a breath before finishing her thought. "Honey. Why did you call him Daddy?"

I peeked from behind the tree, brushing some of my curls back watching their two silhouettes in the candle light as Tallis gets Kendan ready for bed.

"Mommy, I call him Daddy because he is my Daddy." His voice, tiny as it was, was firm. Yeah, his wolf was definitely talking him through everything. My own wolf smirked at that thought that our pup was robust and bright.

"Okay Kendan, Mommy was just wondering." She whispered to him before blowing out a candle. I heard her kiss his forehead and murmur a goodnight.

I move away from the tree continuing my walk, contemplating on everything on my mind.
