Jordan's POV
I let out a huge sigh of relief as I plonked myself down in my usual spot on the changing room bench. I stretched my legs out and took a look at my fellow team mates who were finishing changing into their normal gear or were already sat down looking and feeling exhausted like myself.
Stewart was a couple of places to my right and was sat with his legs stretched out in front of him. He turned his head to look at me and we both gave each other brotherly smiles.
I was probably closer to Stewart Downing than anyone else on the team, Andy Carroll coming in second. Maybe it's because they're both from the North East but still, Stewart was like a brother to me.
"Long day at the office?" Stewart yawned and I laughed.
"Yes, very long. But so very worth it," I smiled and Stewie held out his fist and I bumped it.
It still hadn't hit me yet that I'd won the match for the Reds today against their biggest rivals Manchester United. I'd scored the winner. Me! I still couldn't quite believe it.
As I sat back and daydreamed about today's events, first team coach Steve Clarke stood in front of us all and asked us to quieten down.
"OK lads, well done for today! You all played brilliantly and I'd love to just say that and send you all home after a hard day's work but sadly, that's not the case. We have the Youth team joining us again, this time they're bringing their families so you know the drill, meet with them, take pictures and mingle, all that jazz. I swear if it was up to me, I'd let you all go home so I apologise in advance if this goes on for more than half an hour," Steve said and I yawned.
I guess a meet and greet would be okay. I was in high (albeit, slightly warn out) spirits and meeting some enthusiastic fans who are happy over today's win would probably finish the day off quite nicely. Liverpool fans are the best!
I leaned my head back against the hard, cold wall, closed my eyes and tried to reflect on today.
But, unfortunately I was facing the same problem I'd been having this entire week. Whenever I'd close my eyes to just relax after training or I'd be about to drop off to sleep, the same beautiful face would enter my mind again.
Why did I keep thinking about her? You'd think after last weekend's calamity that I would've found a way to forget about her but thus far, I had not.
There would be times where I'd stay up for hours on end at night just thinking about the circumstance in which we'd met. It probably sounded like I needed serious help (you know, the straightjacket type?) but, screw it! I liked the feeling of having Bea on my mind. I didn't know whether we would ever meet again or whatever but this wasn't some one time crush.
It felt weird saying it and knowing it, but I had genuine feelings for this girl and whether I liked it or not, they weren't just going to disappear in a couple of days time. I had to find her again somehow...
"You still thinking about her?" I heard Stewart say. He was now sat directly next to me in the seat Stevie usually occupies.
"Who?" I slowly opened my eyes but I knew exactly who he was talking about.
"Don't act dumb, Jord. You know who I'm talking about."
I chuckled slightly and sat up straight. Because I was closest to Stewie than any other person at this club, I'd told him about my feelings for this mysterious girl. He'd been cool about it and we'd talked through what had happened the day I had met her. But apart from that, he didn't know I'd had a few restless nights over the girl, yet I suspected he knew somehow...
"Yeah...maybe a little," I said plainly.
"You need to stop, man. I'm not being judgemental when I say this, I'm saying this because I'm your friend but you really do need to get her out of your head because this really isn't healthy," Stewart said.
I kept quiet and stared straight ahead of me. He really didn't understand and I wasn't going to waste my breath telling him either. I know Stewart was just being a mate but...something in my head just wanted to scream at him!
Before I could think anymore about it, the changing room door opened and the Youth team coach walked in follwed by the Under 18's and their families.
Immediately 17-year-old centre back Jack Walker came up to me and I smiled and got up. Jack was from Sunderland so automatically we had a lot in common. I'd met him last week when the Under 18's had first met the first team.
"Hey Jack. It's good to see you again!" I gave him a friendly fist bump and he grinned.
"You too! Great goal today, man! You totally deserved to get the winner!"
I couldn't help but beam with pride. I felt honoured and a tiny bit overwhelmed with all of this praise that I was recieving. All the same, I reacted modestly.
"You think? Suarez was playing pretty good. I think he probably deserved it more than me,"
"Ah yeah, Suarez was playing amazingly well. He did deserve a goal today but the way you were on the edge of the box-"
While Jack spoke, I kind of switched off and stopped paying attention. I don't know why, maybe I was tired but I went into daydream mode. Until I heard her name...
"Jay, Lexa, Bea! Come on over!"
It was like I'd crashed back to reality with a huge earth-shattering bang. As quickly as anything, I whirled my head around to where the shout had come from and instantly met her eyes. Those beautiful brown eyes...
My heart quickened in my chest, my mouth became incredibly dry and all my eyes were focused on was Bea. She was here...
