Chapter 6

I smiled to myself as I flicked off the TV. What a great win for the lads today. 4-0 said a lot about how the team was growing and improving: Luis Suarez with a hattrick and defender Daniel Agger was even on the score sheet too.

It was a shame that I couldn't have watched the win with Dylan, Jay and Aaron but, as I told myself whilst watching the game; one day in the near future I will be able to experience the magic of Anfield for myself.

I checked the clock on the wall which read 4:20pm. I heaved myself up off the couch, clutched my side (which still hurt quite a lot) and looked out the window at the view of Stanley Park. Figures in red and white were dotted all over the lush, green grass.

I loved to watch this scene after ever home match; fans making their way home after a very fulfilling day. I remember one time last season when the Reds had beaten Chelsea, I had opened my window and I could hear the fans in Stanley Park singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' at the top of their lungs.

As I turned back around, the home phone started to ring. I smiled with glee as I went to answer it. I picked up the reciever as fast as I could.

"Man of the match?" said the voice on the other end.

"It's got to be Suarez, right?" I replied, still grinning like an idiot.

"Hottest player of the match?" asked the voice.

"Heskey. Hands down," I joked.

"Bea!"

"Fine! Gerrard! It always is!" I laughed.

"And finally, performance out of ten?"

"10 out of 10! Duh!" I giggled.

"Correct answer!" cheered the voice.

I laughed again. This was mine and Lexa's dumb thing that we did after every match that was on the TV. Lexa would ring me up and ask me who the man of the match was (it had to be a Liverpool player, even if they lost), who the hottest player on the pitch was (it always had to be Steven Gerrard. Lexa liked him the best) and the performance out of ten (it was nearly always 10 out of 10 every time!).

"How did you enjoy the match?" I asked.

"It was great! The lads played really well! Luis' second goal was out of this world, right?" Lexa replied.

"I know! It was a very impressive performance by Luis. Although he impresses every time he plays. A great game though, yeah!"

"Ah, Luis is immense!" Lexa laughed. "But what about your boy Jordan? What's going on with him? Did you drug him or something yesterday?!"

I threw my head back and laughed. Jordan Henderson's performance today was nothing to shout about. He seemed to lose concentration very easily which is unlike him. I know I haven't seen him play for Liverpool for very long but I've definitely never seen him play that badly before!

"I don't know why he was playing the way he was...he just looked, I dunno, really fatigued. Maybe he has an injury," I got up and strolled to the kitchen. I needed to fulfill my Nutella craving that had been nagging me ever since half time.

"Hmm...he was clearly 'away with the fairies' as my Auntie might say," Lexa said and I chuckled as I fished a spoon out of the cutlery drawer, opened the pantry and grabbed the Nutella.

"Oh well. He'll be back to normal next match," I spooned a dollop of the chocolatey-hazlenut goodness and happily plunged it into my mouth.

"I hope you're right, girl. Otherwise I'm holding you personally responsible for his downfall!" Lexa chortled.

I giggled and rolled my eyes. I'm sure Jordan was fine. He'd be back to in no time...well I I hoped so anyway...

Hehe, put your hands in the air if you loooooove Nutella xD
