*Before the accident*
~David's p.o.v~
My family had just dropped me off at the restaurant and I was so nervous. I mean ever since I got her message for the first time I'd been nervous, but not like this. I was sweaty, and a little pale, my stomach felt like it was turning in knots. I loved it, it was the best feeling in the world knowing that I was so close to finding my true love.
After about 5 mins of waiting I saw her. She was standing across the street from me, her eyes were so focused on me. Right when I caught her eye my timer started to tingle, that's how I knew it was her. She was so gorgeous, everything I ever dreamed she'd be. My Heart began to pound rapidly as she walked across the street to greet me. But on the way she looked down at her timer, I realized I hadn't checked it for a while so I looked down too.
1 day, 5 hours, 10 mins, and 24 seconds.
"What? There's no way! She's right there!"
I looked up at her and she had the exact same expression on her face. She had stopped in the middle of the street staring intensely at me with a confused look on her face. I looked to the side of her and right there was a car coming as fast as lightning. Everything seemed to go in slow motion as I started screaming.
"SOPHIA! GET OUT OF THE ROAD!"
She didn't seem to understand so I started pointing to the car. She didn't move. I started sprinting to her as fast as I possibly could, but it was too late.
*BANG!*
I was too late. She had been hit, thrown in the air by the force of the hit. She didn't go far, just a few feet, but enough to hurt her badly, or worse.
I ran to her as fast as I could, I was sure she was gone. I felt her wrist for a pulse, at first there was nothing. But soon I felt a faint pulse. I pulled out my phone to call the police but it seemed that someone already had because they pulled up before I could even press call.
They put her on a stretcher and into the ambulance. I called my family and told them the situation, they agreed to come get me and take me to the hospital. Once we got there, I ran to the reception desk and told them what happened.
"Sophia Davis! She was hit with a car, and I need to see her!"
The lady looked at her computer. "I'm sorry sir." the lady said apologetically "But Sophia can't be seen right now, she's knocked out cold so you'll have to wait. But she is a very lucky girl, In accidents like this, people don't usually make it, but Sophia will be fine.
"Oh thank god!" I exclaimed "So when can I see her?"
"Well Sophia has taken a hard hit to the head, so she'll be out for a while, come back tomorrow and I can update you on her, but right now theres nothing I can do for you, I'm sorry."
"I can't just leave her! Is there an extra bed or something I can sleep on here, I'll sleep on the ground if I have to!"
"Sir, I'm afraid we don't have any extra beds for you, and the floor is not a place for you to be right now, please go home, and come back tomorrow."
I was very hesitant. "Fine." I said flatly as I walked out of the building. On the way in was a woman who was calling Sophia's name as well.
"Sophia! Sophia Davis! I'm her mother, I need to see her! She's all I have left!" She said, tears streaming down her face.
Her mother?
"Come with me ma'am, I'll show you to her room."
If I had just run faster or seen the car sooner, her mom wouldn't have to be here sobbing, and Sophia wouldn't be in the condition she's in.
I wanted to walk right back in the building, and demand to see her and to apologize to her mom, but my family was dragging me to the car.
*The Next Morning*
~Sophias p.o.v~
My head was throbbing and every second it seemed to hurt more and more. My legs were killing me along with my right wrist. I looked at my wrist and it had a cast on it. Both of my legs also had casts on them. My ribs hurt like crazy whenever I moved. But none of that mattered, the only thing that mattered was David, wait a second. Where was he?
"David?" I said weakly
"Sophia! Oh thank goodness your awake, my poor baby!" That wasn't David, that was my mother.
"Mom?"
"Yes! It's me."
"Where's David?" I asked but right when I said his name her face went from ecstatic to seething anger.
"Why do you want to know where he is?" She asked.
"Because i-" She cut me off.
"Don't even answer that, it was a stupid question, you would just say Because I love him, that's why." She said in a mocking voice. "Well guess what, he's the one who did this to you! If you just hadn't seen him yesterday none of this would've happened!"
"Don't you dare ever say that again! This isn't David's fault, I'm the one who went to see him, I'm the one who didnt move away from the car in the street, and he's the one who tried to save me! So don't you ever say this is his fault because it isn't!" I shouted with as much power as I could muster up.
"Mom, I know you love me and I know your trying to look out for me but I love him, and there's nothing in this world that could change that." I said a little quieter."I know you do. I'm sorry, I just can't handle the fact that you're hurt, and I guess the only thing I could think to do was blame him. I'm sorry."
"Thankyou mom. I forgive you."
*Later*
I had taken a nap apparently, I didn't even know I fell asleep. But it was needed, I was so tired from everything I'd been through. And when I woke up I felt so much better than before, my wrist and my legs didn't hurt as bad, and my ribs didnt hurt as bad every time I moved, but that was because of the pain medicine they gave me. But in the corner of my eye I saw something, but when I looked over I realized it was a someone. It was David, he was asleep with his head resting on a desk.
"David?" I asked. He started to move so I called his name again.
"David." I said a little louder. This time he opened his eyes and sat up, he looked over at me and smiled."Hi." He said.
"Hi." I said nervously.
At that very moment we heard 2 beeps. We both looked at our timers, they had snapped off. (Thank goodness my timer wasn't on the wrist that was injured.)
"So I guess I was right, you are my true love." I said as tears formed In my eyes. He wiped them away.
"Yeah, I guess you were." He chuckled
-----------------------------------------------------------
Awww they finally met!
Also, yes when soul mates meet for the first time, their timers snap off because it's not needed anymore. And I know that when you're hit with a car you don't usually recover that easily and usually there's way more problems but this is a fantasy so don't burst my bubble. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed, please comment and vote!
