*8 weeks later*
~Sophia's p.o.v~
It's been eight weeks since the accident and I'm finally pretty much all better, except for a few bumps and bruises. But I got all 3 of my casts off and the horrendous headaches don't come as often anymore. They let me out of the hospital about 4 weeks ago but while I was there Layla and David visited very often. Layla wasn't able to see me often at first because school got in the way, but she still found a way, she's the best. David also visited me very often, like 3-4 times a day. He was supposed to be back in California by now, but he talked to his family and they decided that he can stay with them here for as long as he wants. It's so sweet of them to let him stay, I really need to thank them...Big time! Because without David I would have spiralled into depression.
"Hey" David said in a shakey voice.
"Hi David!" I replied happily, I realized he seemed nervous "How are you? How come you seem nervous?"
"Well, um... I have something I need to ask you."
"Ok... Shoot"
"Ok, well since your mostly feeling better, would you like to go on a-uh date with me?"
My poor heart has been doing a lot of pounding recently and this didn't help. I mean, I knew this would happen one day. I just never could've imagined it happening with someone like David. I mean seriously, I'm not even gonna sugarcoat it, David is hot. He's got dark brown hair, bright blue eyes, a cheisled jaw, almost exactly what I imagined. Except I wasn't able to imagine me with him. I've never had a boyfriend before, I mean sure, I've had crushes, you already heard about Aiden. But I've never felt like this before, and that's why when he said those words I froze, I couldn't say anything, my mouth felt like it was sealed shut and I couldn't think straight. I wanted to say yes and jump into his arms, but of course my brain wouldn't permit me to do that. So I stayed silent, frozen in place. Until my brain finally began to work and I finally answered.
"Of course! Who wouldn't want to go on a date with you?" Wow I'm a dork. "Er- I mean uh, yeah sure, why not?"
God help me.He chuckled
"Great, let's go now!""Now? But I have to tell my mom, we don't even know where to go, plus getting ready takes me forever."
"Go ahead and tell your mom, and after we'll go to the park, I already packed lunch. And you are ready so let's go."
"No I'm not, I have to change and put makeup o-"
"Why? Why would you do that? You look gorgeous already, makeup would just cover up all your natural beauty with artificial goop."
He knows just what to say to make my heart flutter. And yet again, I'm speechless. How do you even respond to that? I'm not good with compliments, even though that was the nicest thing I've ever been told. Maybe I'll just say that.
"That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me."
"Really? Wow, people need to step up their game."
"Thankyou."
"Well you deserve to know the truth."
*Later*
I didn't even get a chance to tell Layla about our date because we left right away. She's gonna bother me about that for the next month or so. We went to the centennial park, like we originally planned on doing. We found a spot next to a huge, beautiful fountain, and it was isolated from people. David brought a blanket and a picnic basket and we sat down by the fountain and unpacked the food he made. It was all so thoughtful and sweet, I had never been happier. The food tasted amazing! David was a great cook, that'll come in handy in the future.
"How's the food Sophia?" David asked
"It's amazing!" I said with my mouth full. I swallowed. "Oops sorry, I'm not good at being ladylike." I said with a nervous chuckle.
"That's ok, I don't expect you to be. I want to know you for you, not some fake show."
He's probably gonna regret saying that later considering I'm a hot mess.
"I agree with that, I want to know you for you also." I don't know how he is so good with words. I'm terrible with conversations.
*Later*
David and I finished our food and packed up the leftovers.
"Hey! You like icecream don't you?" He asked me.
"Of course I do, I love icecream! But I didn't think to bring any money."
"That's ok, It's my treat."
We walked to a nearby icecream shop and David bought us icecream. I'm having a great time! I don't want this day to end, but it's late and I have to get home.
"So I guess I should take you home." David said. It was probably my imagination but I thought I heard a little sadness in his voice.
"Yeah, I guess so." I said dissapointedly.
He walked me to my house and we just stood there staring at the door, I didn't want to leave him.
"Hey Soph?"
"Yeah, David."
"I love you."
My heart dropped as tears formed in my eyes.
"I love you too."
The next thing I know his soft lips are pressed on mine and we stayed like that for a few seconds, until I pulled away reluctantly, breathless. My voice was gone, I tried to say something but my head was spinning and I was a little nauseous because of my nerves, but it was the best feeling ever. He pulled me in for a hug.
"Bye Sophia." He said as he released me from the hug.
"Bye David." I said while I walked into my house.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I'd just like to start by saying I'm so sorry it took me so long to post! It's been a week which is late for me and I'm sorry about that. I had a bit of writer's block and I couldn't think of anything. But I'm back
(for now) and hopefully the next chapter will come out shortly. I hope you enjoyed, and if you did please comment and vote!
Much love!
