S U M I

"Yah Mianhamnida and we left the money on the table but we must leave now." I apologises once again but grabbing Mae hand and begin running home.

"SUMI SLOW DOWN AND TELL ME WHATS WRONG!" Mae clearly unaware of whats happening but there was no time to explain so I tried to grab Chin-Mae and run home but Chin-Mae yanks her hands out of mine.

"Mae theres no time to explain lets go." I say trying to grab her hand once again to only have her step away from me.

"Tell me whats wrong?" She asks staring at me with concern in her eyes and I hate seeing that in her eyes. "Please Unnie?" She asks once again I sigh and look at the ground.

"Its mum." I say guilty then looking at her and seeing the hurt in her eyes. "We have to go come on." I place my hand in front of her which she glady took and we began running home together faster than we did before.

We had finally arrived home breathless and tired but not done with our mission we we push through the door and see our mum lying on the ground looking sicker than usual.

"Mae get to your room." I say calmly going over to pick up our mum.

"But-"

"No buts Mae get in your room now." I say a little harsher but sensing no movement I glare at her and shout. "CHIN-MAE TO YOUR ROOM NOW AND DONT MAKE ME REPEATS MYSELF." I watch as she quickily runs into her room.

I pick up our mother and carry her to the living room.

"Eomma are you okay?" I asks placing her body on the couch and swipe her hair out if her face to see she was unconscious. "I'll find a job and start working to get the things we need and enroll Mae into school tomorrow and you can stay home where I know you'll be safe." I tell her as tears fall down my cheeks.

"Promise you wont leave us because we still need you." I cry softly. "Because I still need you."

C H I N - M A E

When Sumi yelled at me I ran towards my room cuddling my teddy bear and look outside my bay window and spot and a happy family a mother with her two daughters who adored her and the father at the back watching the three of them lovingly.

I miss those time sensing that the house is a little quite I begin making my way towards the stairs where I could hear them when I heard Sumi sweet gentle voice speak.

"Promise you wont leave us because we still need you." There was a slight pause before she carried on. "Because I still need you."

You see behind her tough and rough act she was very sensitive and fragile but she wouldn't let anyone know that not even me but I was her sister I knew her like she knows me so there were no secrets.

"Me and Mae will keep believing that you will get better and we will do that picnic like we always wish to do when we came back to Korea." Sumi sifts sobs could be heard and that broke my heart bringing tears into my eyes as well.

I sat there wrapping myself up into a ball knowing our mother was near death but we tried to stay positive.

"Mae?" I suddenly hear Sumi I look up and surely she standing there looking at me with a smile. "Come here." I didn't need to be told twice I ran downstairs and into her arms and broke down in tears.

"Will she be alright Unnie?" I asks.

"Ne I just gotta get a job for her meds-" Cutting Sumi off I begin speaking.

"I'll get a job too." I say happily wanting to help.

"Aniyo you'll be going to finish school." Sumi states.

"But-"

"Dongseng you'll be finishing the rest and I'll support us okay trust me." Sumi says hugging me once more before going into the kitchen and begin turning on the oven with pans and pots on top.

"Unnie no stop I'll do it." I say scared for life and Sumi shrugs and left.

She can do a lot of things but cooking not one bit so you know why I got scared.
