Barry POV

There's something wrong with what's under our house... I'm sure I wasn't the only one that heard mobs at night. Sure there are plenty of mobs outside, but we've cleared out everything before we slept. I was fearing today as it may lead us to something we didn't sign up for...

Dean, naturally, was the first one awake; crafting all our gear for the journey ahead. My eyes opened slightly to the sight of Austin kicking Jeff in his sleep, and the dawn light flowing in from the window we've created.

Man.

Anyway I got up and shook awake my teammates, namely Austin and Ray. They cursed softly under their breath as I dragged them towards our established mining spot. Silently, Austin went ahead and began breaking the floor pieces. We followed.

Little ways down we split into two teams; Me and Dean, Austin and Ray. Hoping to find ourselves into a cave system we began digging in a linear fashion, crafting a staircase downwards hoping we wouldn't run straight into lava. Austin shouted from the other side he heard lava, so they ended up giving up on their route and continued down the path Dean and I created.

"WOAH!" Austin shouted as he broke the piece of stone ahead of him.

We all slowly walked up to see what had happened, and my fears were confirmed. A major cave system... under our damn house. It wasn't some joke cave either, it was one that expanded in several different paths and was cut off by a deep dark drop-off.
Austin lead the pack, slowly creeping down avoiding falling down, which would be fatal. He intellectually plotted a staircase.
Guess ingenuity runs in the family.

"Told ya guys I can do it!" He shouted, then immediately fell down the stairs and twisted his ankle.

Never mind. Guess McJones is still the smartest...
What's worse was he fell almost right next to a zombie, who was approaching faster than the ones in the movies. He scrambled back but there was no escape.
We had absolutely no choice but to leapt down and go rescue him and... thank GOD for the difference between Romero Zombies and MineCraft zombies. One stab through the back finished the job...

Austin gasped for air and thanked us. Ray handed him some food and he recovered almost instantaneously. Thank god.
Because the moment I spin around I see nothing less than five zombies, two skeletons and a creeper to top it all off. With Austin the brave, Ray the tactical, Dean the knowledgable and me the brute force. We got this...

"This is just great! We're down here risking our lives while Jeff and the others are up there lazing about, and making--"
