Marcus
I ran up the stairs a couple seconds after Krystal ran away from me. I honestly wasn't expecting that, if I'm being honest here. I thought it would just end up with us kissing. I missed her lips. I haven't felt them since she had moved in here and I missed her. I know she lives in the same house now, but I feel like something is making her act weird around me, or maybe it's just me.
I leaned in next to the door to hear is she was in there. "You don't like Marcus. You won't like Marcus. He's just a friend. Friends don't have feelings for friends. Friends don't kiss friends. Krystal you must move on. Enough with the silly crushing, Krystal. He likes Alexis, not you," I heard her say aloud. I felt myself backing from the door and I felt my stomach drop to the floor.
After what I had heard I knew that I lost my chance. I knew I was going to have to move on because I knew she was going to do anything in her power to move on from me and we weren't even dating. I set the lighter on the floor outside her door before entering my room. I curled up in my bed and I felt sick.
This while time she actually liked me and now I lost my chance to be with her. I wasn't heartbroken, per say, but I did feel very upset. Maybe every time it rains I lose something. I lost Alexis in the pouring rain, then I lost my dad a couple months later because she wrecked his car drunk and it was raining, and now it's raining and I have lost my chance with Krystal
I didn't want to be sad all day tomorrow, but I knew I would be. That's what I did when something deeply hurts me. I finally get over Alexis and learn to move on, but the girl I want I can't have because she doesn't want me. I shook my head. I am not losing my chance. I'll just have to work a bit harder. I felt my eyes droop shut and then I was asleep.
The next morning I woke up and rushed down the stairs, where Krystal's mother was making breakfast. She raised a brow at me as I ran into the kitchen, "Marcus, what are you doing?" She asked, confused as to why I was frantically looking through all the cabinets.
I opened the last cabinet and found an empty box of Rice Krispy, which held about four thousand bucks that I was hiding from my mother. I knew if she knew about the money she would spend it all on liquor. The money has been saved since I was in fifth grade. My dad gave me thirty bucks a week for doing chores and he always told me to save my money for something I really want, and today I had a reason to use it.
I turned and looked at Krystal's mother, who was still staring at me, "I'm doing things. Anyways, I won't be able to eat this morning because I'm in kind of a rush," I told her before running back up the stairs to my room.
I shut my door after entering my room and quickly threw on my clothing. I decided to wear a pair of khaki pants, a light blue button up with a dark blue tie, and then I grabbed my black dress shoes before walking over to the bathroom to style my hair.
Once I made it back to my room I quickly messaged Kali:
Make sure Krystal dresses nice today. Please do not ask any questions as to why she needs to, she just needs to. Thank you.
It wasn't long until I received a reply from her:
Okay, weirdo. I'll be sure to tell her, but what do I do if she asks me why?
Just tell her that you wanted to take pictures, so you need to dress up to make that sound believable. Please do this for me?
Why?
I said do not ask any questions. It just needs to be done.
Whatever, Marcus. Are you planning on asking her out because if so that's cool. Everyone one already knows you like her.
