The next morning I woke up to a message from Chance:
Good morning my wonderful fake girlfriend.
I felt myself half smiling and turned my phone off, getting ready for the day. I grabbed a baby blue blouse, with a pair of black skinny jeans. I grabbed my baby blue heels and quickly began to do my makeup. After that I began to curl my hair.
I finished about thirty minutes later and made my way downstairs for breakfast. My mother was setting down a bowl of cereal for me, while she was on the phone.
"Samuel, you're the one that needs to get the divorce papers. I'm the one that is going to be stuck job searching all day thanks to you," my mother yelled into her phone at my father. She let out a groan, "Sam! Can you please do something useful for once?" She asked, her voice harsh.
I quietly ate my cereal and then she hung up, "Mom, I hope you find a job today. I got to go pick up Kali, so got to leave. I love you," I told her, kissing her cheek while rushing out the door.
I got into my car, quickly heading over to Kali's to pick her up. Thankfully she sent me her address. I pulled into her driveway and messaged her telling her that I'm at her house.
It was maybe three minutes before Kali ran out of her house, waving goodbye to someone in the house. She ran to my car, her hair tied in a messy bun. I smiled, "I love your hair," I told her.
She laughed, "I was getting frustrated with it this morning because it's too long and annoying," she retorted, putting in a few bobby pins.
I let out a small laugh, driving towards the school, "So, Chance is my fake boyfriend, so I have to make that believable," I mumbled, stopping at a stoplight. I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel waiting for it to return green.
In the corner of my eyes I watched as Kali bit her lip. I knew after telling her about what Chance and I went through she would get uncomfortable with this. She then opened her mouth to speak, "Well, just be careful, okay?" Her eyes then stared out the window.
I nodded, "I will be. My heart is guarded," I responded.
Soon enough I pulled into the school parking lot. I shut off the engine and we both got out. We grabbed our things and walked inside.
Kali then looked at me, "Would you like to meet my friends?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows.
I let out a laugh, "Sure, why not." With that we entered the school building and Kali led me over to a group of people. Fletcher gave me a smile and I waved.
Kali then cleared her throat and all three of the girls in the group looked at her. One of them rolled their eyes, "Long time no see. Why haven't you messaged me back?" One asked, her voice a tad bit harsh.
Kali sent her a glare, "I told you I have been busy," she answered, "Anyways, this is Krystal, she is going to be in our group whether you want her to be or not," Kali stated, messing with the bun on her head.
The girl that was having an attitude with Kali then smiled at me, "Hey, I'm Cherish Buckingham," she held out her hand for me to shake, which I did. She then began to mess with her blonde hair, which was very short.
Another girl then booty bumped her out of the way, "I'm Bethany Charleston," she was basically yelling. I guess she was excited to meet me? Not sure.
The last one kind of just rolled her eyes at Bethany before walking over to extend her hand, "I'm Harmony Smith," she said. She was kind of dull of emotion, which made me feel like she didn't like me.
