Breaking the Inhibition

Life is just a moment between birth and death.  Everything in between is merely a brief lapse of time in the existence of living things.  Nothing you say or do in life with prevent your death, and everyone is eventually forgotten or misconstrued in such a way that they might as well be.  There is no meaning to life.  The only reason to live is because your biology urges you to keep surviving.  The one miracle of humans though, is that we have the capacity to understand the fruitless struggle of surviving and reproducing, and we have the ability to stop the chain reaction if we wish to.

Roughly forty-four thousand people die because of suicide a year in the United States.  What does it mean to be a part of that statistic?  Why do people try so hard to stop people from committing suicide? The person who makes this decision doesn't regret their decision, so why feel guilty because of it?  Why criminalize death, when everyone dies regardless?  Roughly twenty-three thousand babies die before the age of one in the United States each year, and we are still able to live our lives anyway.  Over two million Americans die each year, and over six hundred people die each day.  Amidst all of these statistics, what does my life mean?  Why try to convince me that my life holds purpose, when six hundred people died yesterday, and you didn't even notice?  Two million people died last year, yet you made it to this year without any burden on your back because of it.  Why blame yourself or be angry about my life?

We are limited in life to what we choose to or not to do.  While things may persuade our decisions, we ultimately can make whatever decision we want, whether others deem it rational or irrational.  We live in a world in which death is feared and hated, and life is sacred.  Death doesn't exist without life, so why hate the outcome without hating the cause?  Death is just a symptom, while life is the disease.  Of course at this point you are probably worried, or scared, or angry, but hopefully you are oblivious.  There is no reason to emotionally connect yourself to an emotionless decision.  Suicide is a human construction to supersede nature and to embrace the inevitable.  We simply have to first break our inner inhibitions.
