Chapter 9: Glad You Came

{Aria's POV}
I fixed my hair and dusted Kisses' chevron skirt that I was wearing once more. I was waiting outside my house, which was quite risky to be honest. Mom usually goes to the bar at a time like this. Then I saw a car pass by.

That might be DP! I got my hopes up. It parked by Kisses' house. Out came Kisses with the most elegant dress and her escort dude. Both of them were wearing masks. I decided to go to them 'cause why not.

"Hey Kisses!" I said. She jumped and fell.... To the the escort's arms. Cliche. "Oh my f****** gosh, Aria. You scared the crap out of me and then I had to fall to this dumb***.!" she whispered. "Mind introducing?" escort dude asked. "Rude. Anyway, meet Hunter." Kisses introduced.

He removed his mask and raised a hand, signalling a handshake. I got a quick look at him. He looks like Dad. But his hair and eyes are different. I ignored the feeling and shook his hand. "Now tell me why your whispering" I ordered.

Kisses quickly explained why. It seems like some kind of curfew. Then the door of Kisses' house slams wide open. "KISSES CLARITY OAKHEART! GET YOUR BUTT IN HERE!!!" an unfamiliar man shouted his a** off. "Good luck" I whispered. She nodded and dragged poor Hunter with her.

As soon as the man closed the door, another car came and it parked near my house. I ran towards him and he opened the backseat. "Why can you drive but I get the backseat" I asked as I puffed out my cheeks. I didn't want to come in.

"Cause I have a students license and something else is here, beside me" he replied. Before I could object, at the corner of my eye, I saw... Mom. I hopped on in and slammed the door. "Let's go" I said. He looked at me weirdly but went anyway.

It was kinda quiet so I started bugging DP. {For now, Aria will be this while Drew will be this}

"Are we there yet" "No" "Are we there yet" "No" "Are we there yet" "No" "Are we there yet" "No" "Are we there yet" "No" "Are where there yet" "No" "Are we there yet" "No" "Are we there yet" "No" "Are we there yet" "No" "Are we there yet" "No". Man, he's patient.

{End of the fonts when talking}

"How about now" I asked. "Yes" he replied. Not the answer I was looking for. "Really" I asked, in shock. "Ya. Check your window" he said. I did what he said. There I saw a stone wall with vines and moss.

"Why is there moss and vines" I thought out loud. "Valentino Park has been here since this place was found. Then after that, the city. You should've known this by now" he explained. He's catching on. Quick, think of something. "My teacher was boring so I slept through it" I lied. Hope that works.

"Lol. Now we are at the parking lot" he said as he parked the car. He unlocked the doors and went out. He opened the door beside him and grabbed the 'other thing'. He then opened the my door and I jumped out. He closed the door for me and then he showed his hand. I smiled and shook his hand.

DP laughed. Huh? Did I do something wrong? "I wanted to hold your hand and lead you to the place I want to bring you. Your cute" he smiled. I blushed scarlet and held his hand. We then started walking through the park gates.

He led me behind a huge tree with big roots. Just from the front the tree looked like it was glowing. Then he showed me something so... magical. It was a small area with a white blanket on the grass. There was also so many fairy lights on the tree's branches. There was so many greenery and there was a small cart with beverages. Then he showed me what was the 'other thing'. It was 2 picnic baskets. I was at awe. "Here sit down" he said as he placed the baskets and sat down. I did the same. He then opened one of the picnic baskets. It was a bunch of foods. He then started placing all of them down. All of the foods he placed were foods that I didn't even know or recognized.

Once he was done, he looked at me. "Cmon, dig in" DP said. "Uh..." I was dumbfounded. "Us there something wrong" he asked. "No it's just... I don't go out that often " I lied once more. Technically it wasn't a lie. "Oh then let me introduce you to these then" he replied. He pointed out the corn soup with crab, well-made steak, and etc. "What's that one" I asked, pointing to the noodles with chicken. He automatically blushed. "That's what my mom wanted me to let you eat this first since that's what she gave my dad. She says it's for 'good luck'. It's called pesto pasta with chicken" he explained. Wow.

I ate the pesto pasta first. He kinda blushed when I did so. Then we chatted more. We ended up being so full, we wanted to sleep. Then somehow, his eyes glistened. "I almost forgot! Stay here." DP told as he stood up. He got the other basket and opened it with care. What in earth? The cat that DP pictured with the invite came out and stretched her body. "Is that?" I asked. "Yup. Meet Quinzel" he introduced. I petted the fluffball and she purred. Then she sat on my lap.

We played with her for what seems to be like forever until she slept on my abdomen while I was lying down on the grass. DP chuckled and laid down beside me. "Look at the stars. Aren't they beautiful" he asked. "Ya. I never had that much time to look at the stars without sleeping" I blurted. DP laughed. F*** that was embarrassing. "Don't need to be embarrassed. I do that to sometimes" he was being honest. I giggled. Then somehow, I was engulfed in darkness.

I woke up at an unfamiliar bed. S*** I fell asleep and then he brought me to his house, didn't he? Then I saw Kisses. "Kisses?!" I exclaimed. "Yo" she replied. "What are doing at DP's house" I asked. My conscience said stop assuming but it was a feeling in my chest. "Stop assuming. Your 'DP' is my best friend and he brought you here. He said his mom was going to fangirl if he brought to his house and we already told your mom you were going to have a sleepover here" she exclaimed. Knew I should've listened to the it. "So do you like him" she asked. "I... don't know"

That was a lie. I fell for a stranger.
