Picked this song since the meaning of the story is so deep... it's also because Filipino is a beautiful dialect {well language, in general, is beautiful}. Play it if you want. Now on with the last chapter of Headphones (An OC Story)!!!

Hey Mom...

It's been a few months since the court decided to place you in the state rehabilitation center because... you know. And yet it feels like centuries since I actually tried to reach out. Things have just been so hectic with my finals and all that s***.

...

I don't think I'll be able to confront you. Not now at least. Not after everything that has happened. And yet I still find myself wondering... 'Why did you do all those things? What was your reasoning?'. I tried being there for you. I acted as if everything will going to go back to normal. I gave you my all. But you didn't care. You just forced yourself to suffer, cry, and remember the heartbreak, completely forgetting and neglecting everything else besides him. Not only that but you inflicted the pain you felt onto me and pointed out all my faults and flaws. You even took a life and ruined the lives of the remaining all because of your intoxicated carelessness despite it already being 5 years since he left.

But now, I am in a better state right now because of the people around me. Ms. Rachel, Mr. and Mrs. Miller, Hunter, Drew... Even damn Quinzel. They made me feel loved and cared for. They helped and were with me with the big milestones/things like education, a place to stay, and all that. I finally found my 'family'. I can finally be at ease and smile. My scars are finally healing.

All of this that doesn't mean I don't care or love you, though. Both of us have made our fair share of mistakes in life and I have no right in acting like some kind of saint, nagging you on how consequential your actions were. But I hope you will at least try to change for the better. It will be hard to forget what you've done to me and others in the past. And... time changes all. Hopefully, with that, we'll be able to somewhat fix our relationship.

Sincerely,
Aria

The blonde folded the piece of paper, placing it on the bedside table as she shoved her face onto the bed mattress. "I'll just put it in an envelope or something later.." she whispered to herself softly as her chest fluttered ever so slightly. She repressed all things related to her mother that, to her, writing that letter felt like everything was finally getting the closure it needed, even if it wasn't face-to-face.

After a few minutes of silence, the blonde went to the bedside table once more and opened it. She carefully took out a familiar set of baby blue headphones, then grabbing her phone as well. Before plugging it in, she just stared at it.

Because here's the thing, no matter how many years have passed or how much the girl who gave the headset to her probably has forgiven and forgotten her, she just couldn't seem to let go. Even the people that constantly say 'don't worry about it anymore' or 'it's already in the past' are still affected by such.

Her half-sibling, now gone cold and closed-off. Her closest friend and current lover, now became overprotective and 'possessive'. The mother of said boyfriend, feeling slight tension and uncomfortableness whenever she looks at her. The list goes on..

If it wasn't for her, nothing would've changed in their lives. If she limped in another different direction, she wouldn't have met the brunette. Things would've been different, better...

There was a faint knock on the door. "Aria? Can I come in?" a certain raven haired boy asked, opening the door and stepping in.
"I mean... you already did." she replied, sitting up straight and raking her hair with her fingers. "Tss..." he trailed off, noticing the headphones laying on her lap.

"Do they still work?" he asked, trying his best to form a smile. "You didn't come here to talk about some old headphones. Is anything wrong?" she deadpanned, a small smirk forming on her lips in victory as the raven sighed.

"Aria... I know this probably won't be important to you but... just brace yourself okay?" concern and worry filled his voice, immediately causing any form of smugness to vanish from her body. "Drew if this is a prank, just stop. You're making me nervous..." she replied, eyeing his every move.

Silence.

"Okay, so you're serious... Alright, I'll brace myself, I guess.". she said as she gave her complete attention as well as composing herself for whatever he was about to say. But whatever preparing she did wasn't enough. She was instantly taken aback by next sentence he spoke.

"Kisses is in a coma."
