It had been hours since I had eaten, or moved, or done anything for that matter, but I couldn't leave my mother's side.

Jax and Nico had left to get some rest and keep their health up, with only me remaining to watch over my mother while she rested.

She still hadn't woken up yet, but I have hope. The doctor says she should wake up soon.

I stroked her hair affectionately, needing comfort that she was here, and alive, not dead, I can't lose another parent, I won't.

I've had a lot of time to myself now, and since it's the weekend, no classes today. No matter how hard I try, I can't keep the million questions from bouncing around my mind.

Who is Nico?

How did he find me?

How did he know my name?

Why was mother unconscious?

What did Nico show the lady at the desk?

And most importantly, If Nico will go through all this trouble for me, what does he want in return?

Everything was a haze of questions and no answers came. I've hardly slept properly aside from in the chair next to her bed. Soon I may need to become a patient instead of a visitor.

The nurses allowed me to stay the night, but only with some of Nico's evident convincing skills.

There was something off about him, he seemed a little edgy around everyone aside from me, what do we have in common? Why does he act differently when I'm here?

'Kalani?' The voice rang in my ears, it was unfamiliar, but comforting.

I whipped my head around, but the only person in the room was my mother.

"Hello?" I asked. "Who and where are you?" My voice was slightly shaking now.

'My name is Winter, and I don't yet have my physical form.' The voice laughed quietly. It was feminine, and she seemed to like me enough.

'How are you speaking to me?' I asked. 'and how do you know my name?' I tried speaking through my thoughts as she had. It was surprisingly easier than I had thought.

'I am using our mind link, I am your wolf. I know everything you do and I have been with you since you were born.' She replied.

'Then how come I haven't heard you earlier? Huh?' I asked suspiciously.

'I was dormant, now I am not and I am here to guide you and be your companion, we are bonded for life and there is no escape from me.' She said, I could hear her smiling.

'Wait, how do I have a wolf? Why do I have a wolf, and where are you?!' I screamed through my subconscious.

'You are a werewolf Kalani, so we are bonded.' She said, slightly annoyed with me now.

'SINCE WHEN DO BLOODY WEREWOLVES EXIST OUTSIDE OF FICTIONAL STORIES?!' I screeched at her.

'Calm down Kalani!' She giggled, then barked playfully.

'NO I WILL NOT CALM DOWN, WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?!' I wailed. 'I'm going insane, aren't I? Is this a sign that I need to sleep? 'Cause I know that now, you can leave my mind Oh Great Spirit Of The Sleep Deprived Adolescents.'

Winter snorted at this. Then I felt her shift her position and sensed her joy.

'Winter? What's up?' I asked hesitantly.

Just then Nico walked in looking like he really needed a coffee.

"Nico? What's up?" I said, suddenly exhausted.

He said nothing but kept walking towards me. His eyes clouded over and I was overpowered by the way he looked at me.

'Mate!' Winter squealed.

He picked me up bridal style and looked down at me, eyes clouded with lust. Sparks fizzed through my body starting where he touched me. I gasped and our eyes locked.

"Hey hey woah Nico calm down and talk, I only met you yesterday." I said, shocked.

That seemed to snap him out of his code-of-silence.

"You need to come with me." He growled, making me shiver.

Winter let out a bark of delight and I quickly shushed her.

'But his growl is so sexyyy.' She whined.

Before I could blink I was out of the hospital and we where shooting through the trees, me in his arms holding on to fistfuls of his shirt for dear life.

"Nico!" I squealed. "Put me down!"

He shook his head and we didn't stop running until I was on the doorstep of my dorm.

Hesitantly, he put me down. Immediately I bolted as far away as I could from him, afraid that he would catch me, I knew he would.

I felt hot breath on my back, knowing he was right behind me, I pushed forwards.

He grabbed me by the waist and I screamed as he dug his claws in, they elongated and he shifted into a wolf.

"Mine." He growled.

And then I woke up.

So what do we think of this filler chapter? Good? Bad? Yeah I was gonna make it a werewolf but I need to make a more realistic story.
Can you guys vote in the comments whether I should discontinue my More than meets the eye book? It's undeveloped and has no plot right now. If you say no then please give me something bad that'll come up to keep you interested.
